I can't remember names.

All of a sudden I cant remember anyones name when I press F12. people re-introduce themselves and all is fine till I log off and come back again. I'm passing it off as getting old at the moment but the excuse itself is getting older

). Any help?

Have you deleted the subdirectory "Ellaron" for your character?

It seems that a lot of 2k people have this problem, I had this problem and had to delete my char dirs also. But this is not optimal, because now both my characters know who the other character met.

Bror, need me to do anything to try to determine why this happens? Need help debugging?

After having my comp's hard disk re formatted i couldnt remember names, but after talking to my friends Mishrack and Cain Freemont (and a lot of getting angry and sad) all it took was that i deleted my char folders and the names.dat file (in illarion folder) and i could remember names again, although i did have to get lots off ppl to re-introduce (still am too

A few observations:
I thought that perhaps that because Win2K doesn't recognize 8.3 abreviations (that is, progr~1 same as program files) that might be it. I copyied from "C:\program files\illarion" to "C:\Illarion" but same problem.

Then I did a CD (Change Directory) into my character directory and ran the game ..\illarion, and then I could see names of the people who had #i'd me, but the world was black. I know why the world was black (because the graphic files weren't in the current directory) and why I could see the names now (cause was in the directory with the names.dat).

Deleting the names.dat in the illarion directory and runnign from teh illarion directory didn't work either.

Kinda at a loss what else to try.
