Names - probably discussed but please give me an advice

I have a big problem. It was probably discussed, but please just give me a short advice on what to do, if someone knows...

Everytime i logout i loose all the names of every other players. I have to write them on paper. Is it because of i have WinXP? I see that the names are kept in a file "names.dat", but this file seems useless... and i see that this file doesn't apear to get any longer over time... like no new names are added?

How can i make Illarion remember all known by my char names? I know that many other people dont have this problem...

i had the same problem - what i did: 1. create illarion folder - 2. create another illarion folder in the existing illarion folder (thats where the game is actually) - 3. copy all files form your characters folder and paste it into subfolder illarion (thats where the game is) 4. drag and drop char folder into game folder illarion and delete the original character folder in subfolder illarion

after doing so... i always remember names - the only bad thing about is, is that my other char knows also all the people that morgaine knows - though he never met them. on the other side - i like that
