Halfling Overwhelmed And Mugged By Evil Orc Gang

Post by Gustin Treefarrow »

Hello. I am writing to warn the town that I was attacked by a gang of orcs who stole my clothes and money and everything, and people told me to report it to the town guard, so here is the report:

I was casually strolling through the forest eating apples and berries as I went, when all of a sudden an orc sneaked up behind me and grabbed me. I managed to push him away from me, but then he began to attack me. I fended him off for a short while, but just when I thought I had beaten him, he ran away and came back with his gang, who all attacked me. There was a lot of fighting and grappling, and then I dont remember any more.

I would have eaten my clothes before the gang of orcs could steal them but I was too full from the berries I had eaten. The next thing I remembered was waking up at the cross in town with no clothes or money or any of my tools or gems.

I didnt see much of the gang because I was too busy trying to defend myself, but I did get a fairly good look at the leader, who was thin and looked sort of ((67***)).

Unless the attack was within the walls, then the town gaurd cannot do much.

The warning is headed. And I will keep an eye out for your description.

Was the orc male or female and what's your name, unknown writer?

Personally, I can't tell the difference between male and female orcs. They both smell horrendous.

The jurisdition of the town guard should be extended to cover the surrounding area. Townsfolk need to go outside the town to go about their lawful business - they need some sort of protection. Its rediculous that a citizen could be attacked right outside the gates and nothing could be done about it. This sort of banditry needs to be stopped before it gets a hold.

It was long ago stated that if you are not strong of arm or fluent in defense magics you should not tread too far outside the town walls. Escorts are always around. There are many who would take you for a stroll through any part of the island and for little or no pay, only in return for good company or conversation. It never hurts to ask.

And not to be cruel, but if you can not defend yourself against bandits you should not be wondering outside alone anyway. There is nothing the town guard can do about crimes committed outside the town walls. If they were given the jurisdiction outside the walls then the entire island might as well be named Trollsbane. That is why the town is walled in: to protect the peaceful people that reside inside and to draw a boundary as to where the town ends. There have been other posts on this wall about such things. I am sorry for your loss and your pain, but perhaps think of this as a lesson. I, for one, if I am in town, will escort anyone anywhere. I consider myself good company and quiet if need be. That is how it is. We just can not change it. There will always be bandits and those people who do not follow the law. No matter what happens they will always be. It's part of the harsh reality of existance.
