Where to gain skills?

Post by Darius Drudwyn »

I'm somewhat confused here. Where can I learn skills? I'm a human town right now, I want to be either a farmer or a druid :)

If you want to gain skills, simply do what you want to gain a skill in. As a farmer, you should do some farming. As a druid, you should find a master who helps you to learn about herbs and mixing potions. And as a fighter, you should fight.

For farming, you can get most things you need at the local store of Troll´s Bane. But also ask other farmers for help, this is the easiest way to learn things in Illarion.

I have applied for an Elf...as I want to be a hunter I have the following question: Is there any deer to hunt in Illarion?

Nope.
At least not yet.
You could, errr, "hunt" pigs and sheep, but my char was above such things. ;)

The only problem with hunting pigs is that they are in a pen in town, the sheep are in a maze thing outside of town and they dont seem to mind standing idle whist you stab them to death .. or something.

So I have to hunt villains? Or join the City Guard...or what exactly can I do to gain some experience with the bow?

There are monsters you can kill, but there aren't too many villians to hunt, since the town guard perfer to imprison people these days.

I wouldn't be too sure about the villains. Besides - regardless of the heroes/villains concepts - if you role-play your character believably, you'll always make friends and enemies as your character goes along.

I do not doubt that in the slightest...but how can someone carry out a profession, when there is no particular use for someone with this particular profession...
I mean: Why play a hunter when there is nothing to hunt?

Because it is fun to roleplay? This game is all ABOUT roleplay. I play a novice, while there is NO priest magic. That is what it is all about

Well...OK...I just asked because I read a lot about finding masters which can teach you a profession etc. When there's nobody else playing a hunter I will just have to get along with that...I assume

Well you're only a villian if someone says you are because they don't like you. It's just there aren't too many jobs for bounty hunters these days.

My bounty hunter character's been inactive for a while. There just isn't anybody to chase.

Sheesh, peace sucks.

Deceptive peace.

A beautiful thing in an RPG.

Ah, the intrigues that are woven and spun...

Bring him in Bloodhearte, this character is looking for people to hire. ;)
