Lennox found a solution for the loosing names problem.
u have to do the following.
search your character-folder and copy everything into the
mainfolder from illarion.
after this u have to delete your character folder.
now start the game new..
it will working.
we tested this on win xp and win 2000
enjoy the game.

And also if you have more that one character at a time, then you may need to unzip the illarion folder again (make sure you rename the primary illarion folder, otherwise it will be overwritten) After you have unzipped it, create a shorcut to your desktop.
That's ok unless you want to keep the same names for both characters (only copy the names.dat file), would most likely advise that you don't do this, as it would cause confusion to players who haven't met your new character, and also it would be very ooc
