Gathering of the Arcane

In times such as these, those who be learned in the arcane arts, be few and far between.

It is for such a reason, that I send out this message, in hope that any who still dwell within the land may make thier name known.

I wish to create a gathering, where all those who posses the knowledge of magic may concregate, to discuss and debate current affairs of this island and further and increase our knowledge of the arcane.

I bid all mages, grand and small, who have knowledge of magic, to make your name heard and to come together in a great gathering of the learned.

Here we shall use our strength, that of the mind, to study the arcane art, to find, and implement a solution to our current crisis, and to grow in power.

Thus is my plea, for all who are mages, to place your name below, so that we may come together once again.

Alone we are strong, together we shall equal the Gods.

Its an interesting thought to gather all magic power on one place. But its dangerous, very dangerous. That much magic on one place will cause many problems, and you are not able to handle them. But thats the desicion of the mages, a normal Novice of Irmorom like me have no voice in that

BUT, when i read, that you guys, want to be like GOD's, THAN i have to say something. You are a pathetic guy whith too much greed for power, and your thoughts are blasphemy. May the gods punish you for your disgraceful words.

Noone is like a god, they are all, and everything, and the highes power possible. I will pray for your damned soul, and i give you the advice to find your way back to the gods, or feel their wrath.

Oh, how to begin. I certainly love this plan. The gods themselves shall bow down. That will be quite a sight to see and I certainly will be there, in body or in mind. May Bjolmur be spared for your plans, and may you bring down all the others...

My words are not meant to cause offence, or in anyway, undermine the gods.

I am merly expressing how much could be done if we would all come together.

It was merly a metaphor that was used to indicate how much we could change.

The corrupting force of power lies in the greed for it.

No gathering should be held for the purpose of power. Although, a meeting of magicians could bring up interesting discussions.

After i was confronted with this topic and after having a discussion with Mempriclus and other magicians, I tried to find out more about the current stats of the magical arts. The books, crafted by the mummies, which leads novice wizards into the arcane, are very rare these days. And I spoke to many experienced mages, who have lost some of their talents by unknown reasons.
Telling much,but the sence is simple: I would like to re-animate this topic once again, so that every interested magician could participate in this process of finding the truth.

Both solutions are acceptable. This topic could be some kind of collection of 'magical problems' posted by everyone who is involved. Then, experienced mages will have the possibility to give hints and answers.
But a well-planned gathering would be exactly what I understand, when I am talking of discussion.
Nevertheless, I am not in the position to decide about a meeting of mages, because I am not more than a bloody novice.

Well at the current time at least from what i've gathered tlaking to my apprentices and some of the mages around the isle, there are three major inabilities that seem to be of concern. i'll just list them for now

1. the inability to heal oneself using the spell known as MES PEN.

2. Some mages, mostly the newer of the arts find that they are unable to use the paralzye spell.

3. lack of ability to train throughly in magical runes without the excessive buying and use of mana potions.

These are the three complications i've heard of most often when talking to mages around the isle. as To a meeting i suggest trying to gather a list of names of those mages who are well versed in magic (those with a ability to actually cast, not just those with runes) Then at least we will have a general understanding of the number of intermedate to fully trained mages still active around the island.

Thank you both Kaja and Arkadia, for showing interest in attending. A date, time and location should hopefully be decided by the end of the day. I have not yet had the Chance to speak with certain people, and would like another few hours to at least attempt to contact them before setting an exact schedule. I didn't expect to find myself in charage of such a gathering but apprently with limited interests about such a meeting. I guess this has become my new role.

I shall attend myself. I would like to see that Moshran himself is honoured in this meeting, not brought down so I feel obliged to attend. However, the exact location should not be anywhere near town, for that place is cursed. May magic reign once again, and bring fear to all.

The choice of time and location merely wait for Phelix to finish contacting any others he has chosen to invite. Once i've a chance to talk to him the meeting information shall be posted. As to you Misjbar, i had no idea you were a mage or anything of the like, however it's much harder to control a crowd of angry mages or even one for that fact, then it is to deal with regular citizens. Of which both groups have not held you in favor. If you come to this meeting I can only promise your safty so long as you've learned to hold your tounge. If not then your life will most likily be your forfeit.

Kasume, We all have our strenghts and weaknesses, for some of us it's magic, for others it's combat. I refrain from going about telling every fighter or archer i see that they sicken me for there choice of weapon, or every worker for there choice of work. This topic has been posted for a specific purpose and i'd not have you slandering the magic every chance you get simply because you failed in your own study of them. Is it just that you hate 'power' that you cannot attain or are you merely jealous and angry? whatever the case bring the subject up somewhere else. This topic is not meant for you.

Power such as the gods. That the gods have supplied you with, should be respected and treated fairly.

Although when chosen to be used for mis haps such as yourself Athian, it sickens me. People who abuse the powers given to them by the gods. Powers that were taught with much learning.

There are other means of magic than simply power. If simple power is all that you obtained magic for Athian, I surely am sickened.

Although, work, is not of power. But money. Equaling power. Yet it's not something respected and given by the gods except the soil that they plant it in. It is respected with money. Some become greedy with the money, and build themselves homes. Never a bad thing though when you have the Farmer Union who devote their time and money into supplying for others.

Fighters mostly fight with honour. Close combat involved much skill and learning. Much concentration as well. Along with physical fitness of the legs and arms. To able to hit swiftly and diligently is the key to a victory.

Although I see the magics used. By some of so many. To kill others. Powers given by the gods, to kill others. We're speaking of abnormally speaking powers that few mean to understand and yet to master. Yet when speaking in your terms, killing a few lives is nothing more of just another day with these magics.

All of the powers granted with magic are given by all of gods. Meaning the more you kill of any follower or creature that may threaten your danger will hurt them.

With the names writtin on these parchments of participants, I fear that this is nothing other than a meeting of gaining power as a union. To do as the magics willing. And to only harm others in an attempt to get as you people want.

I'll try to make this a bit more simple for you Kasume. This topic is not meant for you to dicuss your discontent. Secondly, i'd like to remind you you do not speak from any standpoint that could be considered honest or noble. you yourself have done just as much harm magical or other wise as any other person. whatever your veiws for the moment, keep them to yourself. you use this same pattern constantly. interupt others activities with your veiw, however invalid or valid, say something rude in order to get some attention, then pick a fight to pull whatever it be completely off topic. I'm asking you once more nicely to go and express your antisentiment somewhere else. another time this topic may be used for disscussion but right now it is not. i'm not going to defend myself from you because i'm simply tired of your nonsense. think what ytou want about why i use magic i don't care, i know my reasons and no amount of slander form you is going to bring me any shame

Thank you Kasume, to put an end to your disturbance by yourself. I think, Athian has figuerd out the point of this clearly.
As I mentioned before, I am an apprentice in the arcane arts and because of that I should not be responsible for such an important matter. But Athian asked me to describe my intentions towards this topic and I wish I could take over some of the work which awaits him in his new role. In this case i will assist Athian to realize the gathering of mages to increase the arcane knowledge.
Indeed, there are several friends of mine, who I would like to ask if they join our meeting, bu I fear I haven't talked to all of them yet. But I will send out some doves right after posting this, so we could look forward to a soon gathering.
