"Account Not Accepted" Error... does it exist?

Post by Guybrush Threepwood »

In another thread I read that there was a "Your account hasent been accepted yet" error. Is this true? I can only recieve a "Wrong Password" error, but I took this to mean that my account had not yet been activated (it sounds stupid, I know).

A little suprised there is nothing about this in archives... if anybody can find a past post please correct me.

Just to sum-up, is there a special error for unacepted accounts, or does the wrong password error apply under those situations?

If "Guybrush Threepwood" is your charname, your account was rejected.

Read the Namerules.

My account was accepted...
and there is nothing in the name rules to say that you *can't* adopt a 'real' character's name - it simply advises against doing so (for very obvious and understandable reasons).
You may be right that it might be a good idea to create a new character... its just all that waiting all over again would be rather damaging to my health.
Ah, well - "Say tarah, tarah", as the spaish yorkshiremen say...

"Guybrush Threepwood" is a Name from the Game "Monkey Island".

It is against the Namerule §5 and so your Char was rejected.

A short time ago, the name "Malzahn" was rejected because it is a name of a dragon in a german story for children. The player was American and didn't know this name.

Based on this I'm really sure that Guybrush Threepwood was instantly rejected. I think almost everybody knows Guybrush.

The name is accepted. Sorry, my fault.
Even I played Monkey Island by myself, I didn't remember that name which must be changed for sure.

@ PO Guybrush Threepwood

Please, pm me for finding another name.

It is a four-part Joke Adventure serie by Lucas Arts. It is full of EasterEggs and very funny. The first game came out ~1990 or a little bit later and the last game is from ~2000 or a little bit earlier.
The games' names are:

The Secret of Monkley Island (tm) ((DOS, SCUMM Engine))
Monkey Island (tm) II: LeChuck's Revenge ((DOS, SCUMM Engine))
The Curse of Monkey Island (tm) ((Windows, SCUMM Engine))
The Escape from Monkey Island (tm) ((Windows, full 3D))

Hm, I think I silently got Off Topic...
