Teleport Scrolls - we need a scroll that will teleport us at

Greetings,

I think we need a scroll that will teleport us back at Town. I could find many ways "where" or "how" you can find those scrolls, but that will change the whole think.

You just can buy em at Store for a price in a range of 150-300 gold coins. That "big" price will keep their use at low level, but you will have a choice" pay or walk"

Since the map isn't huge, this is no problem. And you really think an orc wozuld understand what's written on the scroll? Maybe it will become a spell for mages, but who knows.

a orcs language is basic and short ,they have a writing system and a brain, THEY ARE NOT MENTALLY DISABLED!

anyway, the spells dont require you to say

Kaminoko-altumi sanberas elquanto ne-masumi quaridos.
i think it will work out fine. In the mean time, there is not need to teleport...... this island is pretty small. A good size but you cant really get lost in the surface world.

other issues teleportation would bring up is how PKs might use it to their advantage.... so when it is added, where you teleport to and how far from that location should be a factor.

Teleportation is very mighty, and for this, orcs ARE mentaly disabled. Only a few are really intelligent enough to use magic, the orcs you are speaking of are half-orcs, that means, that the parents were 1 Part Orc and 1 Part Human. I think that they are intelligent enough to cast simple spells, simple!!! Ra Kel Qwan is a difficult spell for which you need a high intelligence. Ok, this is senseless, there is no teleportation, a scroll is nonsense anyway and the most orcs are dumb. you agree to that?

oh dear, where the heck did you hear about the 1/2 human 1/2 orc or half elf ect?
let me take a while guess, someone told me "lords of the ring"?<--- world revolves around that story right?
no, orcs are not "dumb", and human genes dont make a orc smart. just because orcish language sound simple and primative to the human ears doesnt mean they are. By the way teleportation is mighty eh? it doent take much more than common sence after a orcish warlock opens a portal to tell him to WALK THROUGH IT!
humans must be super intelligent eh ? so intelligent they understand all languages, learn to speak bird or sheep? naive and ignorant, humans, known to look down upon those who look different, speak different, act different, yet fail to understand the simplest of task and reasons for doing so. Everything that is not them they will hate and discust, as if they are the center of living things. They believe they are superior among all creatures and take a lot for granted.
get something straight,

just because your language is basic doesnt mean your dumb.
just because your act is primative doesnt mean your disabled.
just because a spell is mighty doesnt mean you cant cast them.
just because a spell advance doesnt mean the caster has to be.
just because its difficult doesnt mean its impossible.
just because your opinions of a orc is stupid doesnt mean they are.
to the human ear you hear orcish language nothing more than grunts and mumbles, yet its still a way on communication. Unable to pronouce human language dont restrict ones intelligence.

Orcs - they are green skinned creatures who forms noble and cultivated shamanic tribes, respective of nature and well aware of its expansion and territories. They may carve large trees to huts, dig orcish mounds, and even build fortresses. The orcs use a lot of material from nature, bones of animals decorate their houses and is used as support. Rarely do they waste anything and nearly always somehow combining technology with nature. Discovery of iron and steel increase the technology of warfare and also some tools and way of life. Very aware and sensitive to their own territories, trespassers are very unwelcomed. They are based on eating meat, so the teeth are mostly canines, unlike human whose teeth mostly design for grinding. Many Humans believe they are nothing more than primitive heartless, savage monsters that has no sympathy and humanity who lurks in dark forest and caves looking and preying upon humans for dinner and unaware of their true traditions. The orcish world collided with the human world when they met face to face. Humans already high upon the rumors of the such evil orcs would attack them on sight, and when other wondered to the orcish territory they would be captured and killed. As taunts and a sign to warn other humans, human skulls were put on signs marking the entrance of the orcish territories. Also the orcish horde showed their support with the same type of taunts and cheers when a enemy is killed or captured and tortured. Humans displayed flags and orcish skulls as their banner of war. These back and forth competition lead to more rumors, and disgust to each others race. During the war, the orcs pillaged many human settlements with their strength as the humans view their brutality which only supported their thoughts of the savageness of the orcs. Magical powers were adopted when some orcish tribes resorted to the power of necromancy and warlock magic. These attacks aided the orcish horde but now is the mega proof among man-kind that the orcs are soldiers of Hell. Most of the orcs also summoned magic from practice of Shaman styles. These use the power of what the orcs respected, nature. Drawing power from the air, ground, trees, animals, and the elements, which enhance the performance of a orc or enchant the orcs weapons or wands. These spells were used to increase the spirit of the army, protect the horde or rids of other magical impurities. The Melee ground troops uses the power and strength of their trusted blades in combat. These weapon masters may be given the magical enchantments to use to their advantage. Humans and Orcs rarely see eye to eye, but given time these two began to realize their true selves and each other. The war was based on nothing but hate for each other and is pointless. Blood of souls and innocent life is being shed for decades over a issue that couldn't even be remembered at the near end of the conflict. In the mean time, the orcish civilization will stand tall and proud for the sun only sets to rise to another day. :cheesy:

Tatonka bearpaw are you against orcs somehow you humans are weak and easly damaged you always hide behind you giant armors and shields what do you really have against orcs enyway you humans might only go killing small defensles animals just for the fun of it, or spear a grizzly too death just too show youre streangth, well if there is eny downside race its humans they always think they are the superior race.

Ok, enough sarcasm, back to the subject...
Teleportation (which has been discussed before) over long distances is unnecessary. The current map is not very large (I'm not complaining) but even if it was larger, that's the fun of TRAVELLING.

Not to mention this would ruin a couple of the Rangers' guild tests. hehe

this is the orcs "point of view", it didnt mention humans, nor the human side of the story. But describes some of the mistakes of the rivalry and orcs description and lightly decribes their lifestyle. Its just to counter some thoughts... infact many might thing of the
"oh horrable baby eating green monkey beasts".

orcs and humans are nearly similar other than strength and color... and no, not all orcs are born stronger than humans, but lets just say average strength compared to humans are above the "normal".

and again, about language, JUST BECAUSE ITS PRIMITIVE DOESNT MEAN ITS STUPID!
basic communication is much better as in quicker communication, but of course have its down side in description and specifing, but not getting to that.

ok.... what ELSE???

um.... hum...... yes, one last thing.

On earth today, we have langauges of natives and ancient ones till today we CANT decode. Its simple, language of pictures, writings of lines ect. If its so simple why cant we decode it? if humans are so smart, why cant we ever figure it out? its MORE advanced then you think! it might even already be CRYPTED! (now same with orc language, but failure to understand leads eventually to lost of interest and then becomes nothing more than a "joke" even) we consider it lost. lost for it will never be discovered, not enough clues or meaning changed. this can easily appied to the "primitive opinion" to human to orcs (not Illarion, in many games or peoples opinion of why orcs are considered so called dumb, which they are not).

I think looking at orc culture as something seemingly primitive but with its own secret complexities which are either imperceptible to the outside or lost is a very good outlook. Or would that be inlook? Anyway... interesting storyline.

although they would have to be pretty expensive because where's the novelty with EVERYONE having a horse or whatever =), oh well, i can't see any ridable animals being introduced anytime soon.

1. when you ride on a animal, say horse, when you fight or get attack , your animal will take most of the hits... not saying you wont eitehr... anyway, eventually if too much damage..... so it will die.(yes, it regenerates, but you cant heal it. when you cast heal, you heal yourself, unless the illarion team somehow can make you choose who to heal.. dont see how when your ridding on it, same spot ect.)
2. Some animals... lets say "dragons" and Unihorns are only able to be given to you by a god ect...... and they may have the ability to attack. Gods may automaticly have them.

3. no the health of the animal isnt much so it only blocks a certain amount before it dies.
4. MAINLY, you catch them so they help transportation wise, get around faster.
5. you wont name your horse.... so no names will appear..... well, you can name it but it just wont show. the riders name appears.
6. of course they are going to be limited..... to get a horse in the wild you must get it under control,
ok, go ahead and explain this

there will be 2 types of animals that is ride-able.

Wild and Tamed

Wild animals run away once you get off of them..... to get on them again you must catch one and get it undercontol again.. lasso or ... leash something like that used on it. difficult.
and once your animal runs away when you get off, its anyones animal then... to make it fair, you dont have ownership, so dont be screaming ITS MY HORSEY ect.
When you logg off,its just like getting off of it.
Tamed, you do have ownership and it WONT run away when you get off. Anyone to attempts to ride it will simply fall off

. but its attackable.... so it can be killed.. but since it is yours, attacking it would be just like harming you... so yes, you may respond.
When you logg off on a owned horse, that horse will "disapear" as well, when you come back on, the horse will be there where you left it, unless its far and it was killed ect.
how can you tell the difference? well, hope they read the manual.

Tamed horses will look different then wild ones.... perhaps color.... or they may have a sattle, armor, sheet of design ect. Wild ones are just plain.... a horse is a horse... sheep is a sheep ,dragon is...... COMMING TO KILL YOU RUN!!!

i don't like the idea of dragons and such that can only be giving to somebody by gods. It would create a whole lot of jealousy i believe, and what could a person do to deserve being given something like that by gods? No, i think all animals should be accesible by everybody except that the only limit would be the price.

in real life you cant have everything as well.

when i say dragon, im not really talking about a 72 foot high dinosaur with wings.....

just a large lizzard that may have 2 heads ect.

no need to be jealous..... why any need? they are still used for transportation, just looks better.

as for why would a person recieve such a prized animal..... a quest.... a goal, or some reward ect.... the gods will decide for that.

Sure, why not buy a tamed horse...
but to assure someone dont ride it away, no one else can ride a already owned horse.
perhaps you can buy a wagon or carrage to carry 2-3 of your friends for the ride.

but lets keep it simple right now.

lets atleast get more ANIMALS in the game. then the "riding" part might come.

let's not make this complicated, the first thing, if this were ever to come, would just be to implement a riding interphase, then you could worry about those other things. But right now it seems like this idea is far off.

@chyan: yes there are items that are rare(i.e. icebird, flute) But those items wern't gifts from the gods, they were gotten by being found or killing the big demon thingy(can' emrmeber his name) so it's a bit differnent then just a gift from the gods.

the reason i said a gift from gods is when you kill a necromancer, how does a unihorn/dragon, or mystical special horse is droped from it?

something like that , a gods quest to summon a group to kill a "necromancer" afterwards rewards the group... ect.

andrew, if you accually read what was posted, horses was the main idea / others. Dragons and other animals "mystical animal" was between the discussion of special animals, like items obtained through some special action event, by or for the Gods of Illarion.

And even if they did have a system people would be all yelling at the gods saying "Why wasn't i picked??" "I want to go!" ect. It would just create a lot of extra work and complaints the gods don't need.

People who are nerving the gods won't be picked I guess. You shouldn't forget that this also is an RPG, so Killing necromancers isn't the mainidea. this "I want to ride a dragon and grow it like a pet" thing is nonsense! dragons are respectful creatures, not any horses or kitties. So think about the stuff you are posting.

Before I forget, there already are animals to ride, or what are these orcs for? :biggrin:

no one nerve the gods, perhaps you can win a "mystical animal" (and goodness sake, doesnt have to be dragon, i only used it as a example!) from a even or quest. Oh yes, the quest is going to be pick 5 apples by the way!!!<---sarcasum.

PS. never said killing necromancers is the main idea... where are YOU getting these ideas?

2. They cant be healed, only regerate!
3. main purpose is to TRANSPORT!

you dont RAISE THEM! they wont grow! they do nothing but help you get from A to B points faster!!! ...where did i ever say you raise little pet horseys.... did i mention they do DIE? yea, .... if you stumbled to a ogre on a horse.....and your horse is next to it..... its GOING TO DIE DIE DIE! it attacks it just like it was you! but you can alway run away faster ect....

(some animals may attack, but your ridding, not jousting, there fore you may not attack anyone on a horse----- faster speed = no attack)

to prevent hit and run PKs .....
