here is a proposal about how you will dectect who shot you, based on skill perception. You perception will give a range of idenification and sence. If you have lets say high perception, you have a far range of sencing power, so when someone shoot you from trees from somewhere, (somehow you will see his location, perhaps by a signal, a .... target box on his location or something, im not sure, up to the team again) and you can see his location and even ID him for a sec. Lower your perception, lower your range to detect, which means you may have to wonder closer before your character "see" him. i mean, if that attacker is somehow even in plain sight, then your character might even ID him like

He says: #555555 shot at me.
(after all, bror said persecption is like hearing a bear sneak up on you...why not being able to dected the attacker in range, even for mages --any ranged attacks?)
up to them(ILLARION STAFF) to decide about that and how to make it "fair".

I think perception is still used for one thing which I don't want to tell here, but I am not sure if it really is. But therefor, it makes you harder to be theft, you maybe hear people sneaking for you earlier. Arrows aren't to hear and I think you've got some better things to do when you are hit by one.

i dont think perception is JUST HEARING,
sencing is more like it, if you have enough common since to look in the direction it came from.

right now there is no way of finding out who did it, it either cost a skirmish and confusion and still may be your life.

I never that that it's only hearing. But people here aren't like Spiderman with his Spidersense. Perception "improves" your 5 sins, or the ears and the eyes atleast.

i never said its SPIDER MAN'S SUPER SENCE, im talking about perception being able to let you see or notify you the attackers direction, postion or even in plain sight ID.

Yes there's no "super-sense" here. Perception would be your ability to use all 5 senses put together to make a "finely tuned detection device" :biggrin: But i think it's a good idea, except that maybe instead of all the identification like "#55555 shot at you" or something, it could just put a box around the attacker if you perception is really good, if it's only semi-good it might A) Put boxes aroun more then one person because your perseption can only tell it came from that direction OR B) Have an arrow or something to indicate which direction the attack came from, that could at l;east give you some clues.

remember, its also ranged, depending on how high it is, you might have to be closer if your perception is less. Then your character may declare war (automaticly) upon the attacker, or locate his loctation....... my opinion....:cool:

But this is stupid. There are several people who don't fight, but then they automatically had to fight. Perception is isn't a spidermansupersense, but what you say comes near to it. I mean, if you back a monster, you originally can't attack or. You would have to face it first. So you won't notice arrows and sneaking people also when you back them. Even if you have a good perception, you aren't a superhero.

AGAIN, its up to the team to decide how its going to be signaled, a declared box or othewise, if you dont wish to fight and your getting blow the heck out of by arrows.... THEN YOU WILL DIE, just stand there and dont fight, simple as that, its not like your character is going to automaticly kill the "attacker" on its own.
PS you wont "sence the arrows" comming, you hopefully have ENOUGH SENCE to tell where it is from or direction ect.......

well now there is antother way too check ID and where he is its only too click on f10 i think it was i have been goon for quite a while
