Coupons, Training Centre....unlim skills - very new...and ex

Post by Lloyd »

hi,too many people are training in town again so incorperating the following will help
. A Magic School ( no not acadamy)  A place to hone your magical Skills
. A physicle gym, A place for duels and training with woodden dummies (easilly incorparates martialarts as well))
. A billing ( Coupon) system, where pieces of paper regulate te time you can use the facilities, doesent come cheap....each papar is for 1min, and costs two ingots.
. The doosy, an
Unlimited, or 240 color bar. continues going through various shades and colours until black is met, depending on what you want to train, how you train it and your perserverence, it can take months or years to train. Which means, A slower skill system...and the afore suggested Perfection system...these seem like good ideas and I can expand if ths posts recives valid quesitons, positive remarks.

The first two make sense, but the billing system that doesn't come cheap will prevent alot of, especially new players, from using the facilities as it costs too much. And what would be the point in paying such a high price for such a short period, if a skill can take well up to a year to fully train ? A slower skill system can be good, but for a skill to take up to a year is way too much, no way is anyone going to dedicate one year to master just one skill, people'll want some results soon, or they'll lose interest.

And with those two facilities comes the problem of alot of programming needed to make areas like the gym and magic school PvP free, as no one'd dare enter now for you would either get fireballed right out or be harrassed by a PK'er rampaging through the gym.

The gyms prevent any attacking except with the wooden dummies. and about the newbies not being able to afford it, thats the point.

i like the gym idea... training school..... ect.
how ever... pay to be trained..... sure..... but not ignots... ordanary gold...

in M&M *secrets of interstratum* for otto, the trainer to train you cost 20 gold.
then 60 for next time, then 120, then 500, then 800 then max training by him is 1000 gold.

Maybe it can be the more you train, the more you have to pay.
but it has to be worth it.
and it can only go so far.... im sure its not easy to get 1000 gold, but like the 20-120 can do.

Its easy for a newb to get in a guild and get the gold and then go and train, if it happens with an evil guild...well....let the words speak for themselves.

evil will always happen. there is no true prevention. anyways words spread quick, and we can track them down, or the GMs can.

I said something about it, that it's too time consuming.

The point is that newbies can't enter the gym nor the magic training school ? Then what *is* the actual point of the gym, if only advanced, experienced or wealthy players can enter ? The gym will be totally empty, lest the rare event occurs that a newbie gets a whooping lot of money.

It's not easy for a newbie to get into a guild, as there are, or there shouldn't be, any clanleaders who will pick a newbie over an experienced player. Newbies are far more common that experienced players, therefore you have a wider selection and can toss half of 'm away. All in all, in your plan newbies will stand nearly no chance at all, so it won't work.

wow, Ney, your on fire! burning through all of lloyds post lol.

anyway, i think 20-120 gold sessions wouldnt be hard.
but training doent have to be in fighting.... A basic school could provide more information than the library... but it isnt public ;) Pay to get in... like i said, 20-120 gold a lession, tutors in other words.

I'm not trying to flame him, or burn through his posts, just detecting holes and the likes.

Anyway, a fee for a trainer can be a good idea, the only loophole being people who have alot of gold..but they wouldn't need such training anymore anyway.

training doesnt go on forever, it is lessons that get to a point. once your passed that point, you cant be trained... atleast not by that  "school ".

hmm Lloyd.. i bet you trained when you were a newbie.

all your "rule" posts (check out Lloyd's guide to newbies) sound like you got to be good some how and you just dont want other people to be as good or better than you.

that is still dependent on the "newbie" himself, for i do understand that, and have a proffesion of mainly blacksmith and carpentry.
now even if you make it so it takes years, they are still going to go for who has higher skill...
but if it isnt slow, atleast everyone will be "good" soon, equaling the field out. as for fighting.....  it also depends on what you have on..

and plus, i dont think you can be the best, skills are easy to catch up....
and not all the skills are appealing. like i perfer smithing over fishing.. ect.
