How come there is a completely new Rumors topic when there is ALREADY a rumors topic that is stickied?

Just thought it was sort of pointless to create another rumors topic.

One topic is locked and can only be altered by whomever owns the board account.

One can be posted on by the characters of the players.

I suppose the locked one could be considered as "official" rumours.

Sounds likely.

But in my opinion, rumors are rumors. Players shouldn't make their characters take the "locked" rumors more seriously than the character posted ones just because mods edit the locked one.

Even the "Rumours" Account cannot alter the things in the locked topic.

You can try it with one of your own postings in a locked topic (if you have one), it shouldnt work.

I belive that "Rumours" just did not find a Mod to edit the locked topic, or didnt want to bother one, since only a Mod is allowed to post or alter in a locked topic.

And "official rumour" sounds funny when you think about the meaning of the word rumour itself.

PS.: Just to let you know:

Every rumor posted by the account "Rumors" is necessarily an official rumor, since only the GMs have Rumors password.

Still makes it vailid what I said.
Rumours-Account does not have Moderation Rights on the RGP Board.
The GM using this account obvislouly does not have these rights too, and since he found himself/herself unable to post in the locked romour topic he/she created the new one.

I never claimed that these new topic is not made by a GM.

This is the worst rumor I have read so far.
This is way too detailed and since when are specific characters named, and pushed, in a rumor ?

The normal pattern was:
"You see a woman.
She seems to wait for someone, looking with a worried face in every direction. You get the feeling that this person she waits for is long overdue."

Its a rumor, not a large campfire story.
If you defenetly need to put all this information into this, make a normal topic out of this.

"Hello , I am ...
I am missing my friend Brodir, last time he was seen near the mummies ruin.
Can someone of you handsome heros go and check out where he is ?"

Another point is, that I find it highly confusing to see the rumor topic open to reply.
Does this mean everybody of us can think of a rumor and put it in there?
I can think of some nice ones to push my other characters popularity too.
