There is no problem with them spawning, only the bad placement of the spawn location.  If I am correct, there are three mummies.  But they are just spread out across such a large area that it may seem that they are not there.  They wander anywhere from the far corner of the map to the middles of the map.  Quite a large area, it just takes some searching to find them.

They probably got tired of you killing them so they took a vacation.

If there were not the ruins, they would run away much faster =)

I have had problems with monsters running away and being unfindable (if thats a word). I think that monsters should have an area in which they can't go out of so that you don't find an ogre who has wandered all the way over to the mummie area (yes I have seen this happen.)

Which changes!? Were have been no changes since October 9th, 2001. And the same date is written on the German opposite of this page. This "news list" is only updated when new releases of client and/or server appear (hope that happens soon :D ).

"I think that monsters should have an area in which they can't go out of so that you don't find an ogre who has wandered all the way over to the mummie area (yes I have seen this happen.)" That would be a very bad idea, an archer or person with a long axe, or something could just go to the edge of that area and kill the creatures, and the creatures wouldn't be able to hurt them! Unless you mean they shouldn't wander on their own?

Monsters will have the tendence to walk towards their origin, if they are not in attack mode in the future.
