I heard something a while ago but I never saw it implemented, but I still love the idea that instead of instantly filling up your bar, mana and healing potions simply increase the rate of refillment (if that is a word) slightly.
Edit: Bah, I went through so many posts today I read them too fast
So anyways, yes that would work a lot better. Fighters would need to better time their healing, and if they use potions frequently during a fight, they wont have time to strike, which makes sense.

They already have planned to make potions hasten regeneration instead of instantly. I like the idea of not being able to drink potions while in combat.
How about not making it instantanious. Like a time to drink it. Say, 5 seconds to fully chug the potion down. During those 5 seconds, pfft, you can have a sword stuck through you and yer head chopped off!

As long as it is faster than food regeneration, I'm fine with it. But food already has this regeneration effect.
Thats not "food regeneration", that would be considered normal regeneration. If you stop healing that means your hungry and tired, and should probobly eat and rest so your body can heal.
The potions would make you regenerate more than normal.
