caranthir is right. irmorom isn't just a god galim chosed. it is the god who made him, who made all dwarves. in the dwarven culture the dwarves think that irmorom made everything, even the other gods. he is not just one god, he is the upper god. the most important.

That actually was pretty damn funny. Thank you. You should, however read my post about the special Irmorom/dwarves/Irmorom relationship.

That's not the point. To make a generalization: The people that Trollsbane guards and citizens didn't like having around generally went up there during and after Darloks rule(not all, but a generalization). So then the guards ran up there(because Ark was undead apparently) and took it over. Now guess where all those 'unwanted' people are going to be spending more time  Guards not really helping their own cause

I think your view is a bit too much influenced by our present monotheistic religions.

An a society where multiple gods are in power, you only pray to the very specific one who might offer you help in this case.

So Irmorom can do little if its not about smithing, enchantments of craftmanships ect.

But we should end this here, this is another discussion how our characters can/should follow thier gods.

What I only wanted to show and tell you, is that you should not say "Because of my role, I could only act this way."
This is simply untrue, there is always another way how your character could possibly react without giving up the guidelines of his role.

for dwarves and especially priests irmorom made the 5 elements which are the 5 gods bragon, ushara, eldan, tanora and findari. these gods form the world. the undead are not part of that world. they are not natural. they are not part of irmoroms or the gods whole work. so why shouldn't a priest of irmorom, god who made the gods who made the world be against that undead?

So, making a lot of people homeless and unemployed is also a wish of Irmorom, Galim? Oh wait, that actually sounds more AGAINST what Irmorom is for than removing undead leaders is FOR him

Alright, let me just say one more thing:
I think your view is a bit too much influenced by our present monotheistic religions.

My character is Monotheistic. It's not about accepting the existance of other gods or their power, it is about being created by *the* one god, hence the two are bound with eachother in a special way. This also belongs to the Religion/Dwarves/Religion.
This is simply untrue, there is always another way how your character could possibly react without giving up the guidelines of his role.
Yes. But in this case, there was no need for Galim to do so. Caranthir gave up on his request. Caranthir terminated the negotiations, Galim had his way. If Caranthir would have said no, then he would have had to comply or do something on his own.

Fooser:
Our characters did not simply run up there. We heard, that the Northerothers had begun to gather in force, and that Shukk claimed that they attacked her first. Then the Dwarves, guards and other citizens gathered a force and marched up North as they expected (or at least my character did) them to attack the town/SB sooner or later. Pre-emptive stike. ;)

So a group of citizens talking in their own town is a Gathering of force? Wow, Trollsbane must have a lot of those

Responsibility for ones actions, did anyone in the entire group have any idea of what to do once their attack was finished? Or what the effects would be? Many people were displaced by an invasion force that has no intention of living in Northerot(at least I hope they dont, the dwarves live in Silverbrand and the Guards in Trollsbane). A holy cause indeed.

Do you really think it is that simple? Seeing that most of the citizens WERE part of the army. And many of them moved there to get away from the Trollsbane/Guards/Whoever else, and now their banner hangs from the castle, do you think they really want to be there?

Them taking Northerot is more in game than out of game. So lyrenzia owns the island now....Why not try to sink it then?
@keikan and Galim and Caranthir
Okay..so maybe galim says he follows Ihronom (or however you spell it) and does another thing. Whoopty do. Obviously the character "Galim" is simple - minded and has no clue what he is really doing.

Yes, your characters are influenced by ooc thoughts. If not every character would drift and eventually become an extreme. What fun would that be? "Ark" may have been mean. She did bad things. She killed quite a few people in the beginning of the war. That doesnt mean ARk was aplnning to burn every city that was left. She was actually making a peace...well...before galim and got into it.

And a nice little side note. If Lyrenzia is going to control pretty much the entire island, perhaps the jerky Town Guards should not be so anxious to ban people from town. That does really hinder others enjoyment of the game. There are much better solutions. One of my characters threw a stick at another character...didnt really hit them...rp'ed thrwing a stick..and she was banned for a day. That is a little rediculous.

Well, one of my other characters was there and witnessed the whole thing. I have not read this whole thread because it got VERY boring after the first two pages. Iif i was the leader, i would have let them keep the castle and take over their WHOLE TOWN! A castle is good and all, but a WHOLE TOWN is better.

But about the gates, I can see how Vakhos could have closed them. It would have been possible, because from what I saw, no one was really attacking him or pushing him or trying to keep him away from the gates. I think you should roleplay your best to set an example for the other people there. Maybe the people inside the castle could have tried to ram the gates, and one of the people with the 'keys' would open it but rp like the gates were rammed down...

Just because you didn't get your way doesn't mean you should get mad and argue. Rp your best and everyone else will follow..... hopefully.

This whole thread started because of what happened after the main battle.
Take over their town?
We could not as they would be very upset that we defeated their invisible, imaginary guards. Maybe I should get myself an imaginary invisible army and go beat up all their invisible, imaginary guards.

The player of Hagen may quit playing.

I heard a GM or two told him to stop occupying Northerot or something such, for untold reasons. This makes me somewhat angry.

I really hope we didn't lose one of the best roleplayers here just because the GMs might have gave into the whines of others. They were occupying Northerot, and doing a damn good job at it. Why make them quit?

IF this is true it is wrong.

They captured Northerot. It is there. There is no reason why they cannot occupy it. That is all in game stuff such as wars and government and the gm's I thought could not get involved in such affairs.

Once again for all those who dont feel like reading all the pages....This thread was about some very poor roleplay by some "older" players after the battle was over. They took the castle fair and square.

I was told by Gwynnether in mIRC that this happened.

I might've misunderstood, so I'm not saying to use Gwynnether's message as a direct quote or gospel.

I seriously hope I'm wrong.

OMFG! Darlok quit!?!?! Ark lost Northerot to Lyrenzia?!?!?!?! Why the hell did Darlok stop playing?!?!?! GGGRRRR! Grant tried to take Northerot for like... *counts in his head* 9 months! Shukk plans for about a week and has it.....
Yeah, how discouraging. Or realistic, after all, Darlok had tons of guards when he was fighting with Grant... Just because Darlok died doesn't mean the guards in his lands would leave too, Ark should have had a massive army to defend Northerot with....
But, yeah, that is a problem, GMs are not supposed to get involved in the game, yet they do, Darlok was impossible to conquer because of the GMs, he needed them because not enough players sided with him. When Darlok leaves, the GMs stop protecting Northerot and it is easily taken.
But yeah! I cant believe Northerot is Shukks!!!!
Maybe I should finish Grant's boardquest and then he'll strike...
...
...
Man! if Darlok would have quit during September, when the Movement was in it's prime Grant would have been king so easily...

and since when is he a super priest? he is just a novize, with no power. all he can do is pray.
I've seen you casting paralyze spell, and Galim explained that it was because you were a preist. Personally, if Kasume wanted to "pray" he could.

Although, never in my mind had I accussed you of powergaming. Although it takes years to master blacksmithing (or in this case grandmaster), I would expect his life to be consumed by working on his items. So therefore, he hasn't had much time to grow hate towards too many people.

Gods don't automatically hate the evil just because they "good" in the believers opinions. Infact, just because you are undead, does not mean you are "evil."

I wasn't implying he was a super preist. I was implying that he's this super dwarf with mastery at a lot of skills. Knows magic, and is good with the weapon. Come on Galim! He's a dwarf! There are limits to life (Like size! )!

I request that the gms who removed the guards for no logical in game reason, and simply resurrected themselves during the brief fight, leave the guards alone and let them inhabit the castle for the time being. GM help is always aprreciated, however, when they jump in without any consoltation or thoughts to how it could affect anything, it severly hinders the game enviorment.

How do you mean screwed up? I think it is natural for unexpected things to happen in role play and this adds spice to the drama or do you like it when you know exactly what will happen in a game?
Bloodhearte wrote:I don't think it's fair to mess with technical functions in the game, strictly for OOC reasons while ignoring IC behavior. The player of Zesh was obviously trying to figure out if he could access the gates, and enter any old time he wanted regardless of the fact that he isn't 1 of the 2 only roleplaying keyholders on the freakin' island.
Yes it isn't fair to mess with technics only for OOC reasons, but I did not do this and I think this is a bad ?assumption? you have made. Zesh was one of the people told to guard the castle and I think it is logical for people in a foreign territory to explore and try to get the best handle on their surroundings especially in a surrounding where they could be attacked any time. Zesh was examining the gates and this was entirely IC. I think this examining is not illogical because what kind of a soldier told to guard a place does not even try to get to know the entrance he will be guarding?

The gates were closed and I roleplayed this as an accident since Zesh is not supposed to be not too smart with machinery things. And I don't think being a keyholder is necessary for good roleplay in using the gates or how do you explain thieves and lockpickers?
Bloodhearte wrote:He doesn't hold a key. So logically, he should stop trying to open the doors and take advantage of technicalities over the roleplaying aspect.
Yes Zesh doesn't hold a key but he only closed the gates and this does not require a key as you mentioned. The role playing aspect is the only reason I play the game and I already explained my logic in this so I hope it is enough for you.

Any ways I think this kind of posting isn't right because it is like slandering when some assumptions are made without all the facts. Next time if you have a questioning on some roleplay of another player maybe it would be better if you privately message first? Thank you
