The small boat...

Post by Kasume »

Kasume prepares his long voyage from his lands. Once corrupted by the ever so vile orcs that raided his towns, and yet burned his cities. Now with the aid of brilliance and loyalties, normal life can yet return to Kasume. Now leading his people to reclaim the lands. He leaves his position. Leaving all what he loved, or ever could care about... in light, hoping it prospered into a world of what it once was. What he had gone through... would never be spoken of again. Now Kasume is left with his final decision. What to do when he returns. What will be waiting? What has changed? No longer will men bring him food, for he will fend for himself. On the small island... Illarion... he sees something different. Something he couldn't imagine. Something, with solitude. Although he directs it further from the solitude that he wishes. It now returns. Never had he want peace such as though he wanted now. Yet... realities and conflicts of real life he could see.

Boarding his ship. He veiwed the great sails. Wearing his honorable cape of Verdaneal he was ready to set sail.

"How is everything? Is it all in order? Are we ready to go?"
"Yes Ka-soo-may. Everything is in order. There is... only one thing."
"Yes, well before that. You must know, it is Ka-soom. Please do not forget that."
"Oh dearly sorry... Will not happen again your majesty."
"Do not address me by the word 'majesty' again either."
Coughing the old sailor laughs, "Well... only a tad of our voyage and we have a bad start! eh?"
Kasume only stares... Waiting for this last preparation.
"Erm... Yes... Well... Come this way. You quarters are this way. We show ya the Galley too! And where ya stay if we are attacked."
"Attacked? Excuse me?"
"Oh yes, many pirates run the south seas of here. Right where we need to pass."
"No matter then. We are in sort of a hurry. So I can find my way around the ship. We set sail now. Understood?"
The old sailor just cocks his head in confusion lifting a brow. As Kasume does the same with a slight grin. The sailor only laughs and pats Kasume on the back.
"Very well ya fool."
"More like it..."

The sail is good. The wind is rough. Yet over all it was a fine ride. Of course, when things are all going good, something is bound to happen that will horride the boundries of fear. And rest assure... it did.

"Pirates to the South South East capt'n!"
"Aye... Man the stations. We got us a battle comin!"

Kasume did not care for fighting anymore. He had passed war and fighting when he left his castle. When he woke in the morning. When he boarded the ship. So he hid. He hid not to be found. The sounds of the air... the thumps and yells. Could only be heard. Stuffed in a small storage compact, he just laid there... Curled up. Listening to the muffled sounds. His eyes closed. It had grown late as he could tell. Closing his eyes slighty, he fell deep asleep. With confidence, without fear...

Kasume woke in the morning to being on a small getaway ship. Staying still, he heard the rowing. And the waves. Most likely being knocked out when found, he stayed perfectly still.

"So who this bloody fiend be?"
"It's that war master... What be his name?"
"I believe the name is Ka-soo-may."

Kasume scrunched his face in anger.

"Well what we suppose ta do with em?"
"Well of course, drop him off at the nearest island."
"Couldn't we sell em though?"
"Oh no, of course not."

Kasume bewildered by the differences. Two of the men rowing in more towards the front were larger men. Rougher voices. Like a pirates voice. Of course didn't talk much like one. The other, obviously well educated was at the end.

"Only questions would raise how we got him."
"Oh, we dun want that do wa?"
"No, we most certainly don't."
"Hey... I see him move!"

Something jabbed Kasume in the back. What in gods name it was is unknown. But it sent him in a jump.

"I suppose you should knock him out then. Can't have him seeing us now."
"O tay"

Immediatly Kasume jumped and sheathed a dagger from his pocket. Why he still had it was another strange thing. Although, the larger of the three just swung his fist out to knock him out.

"Just drop him!"

Was the last he remembered. As the small boat pushed away from the shore. It left Kasume laying. His ceremonial cape flung over his head pushed into the sand. And his belonginings, floating in the water...

Unconcious for hours, he finally awoke. His head throbbing, he stood up waving his hands back and forth to keep steady. Opening his eyes ever so slightly, he looked at the water. Widening his eyes, he saw his things in the water. Just his sword. The only thing he brought with him to Verdaneal. He couldn't move. Standing was hard enough. But he grew the strength to lift his foot. And take a step. Slowly wading into the water, he got in up to his neck. Looking around he held his head and went under. The seering pain in his head returned at that very moment. Lifting his legs he lost control and the water pushed him further out. Letting go of his head he came to realization. Swimming up for air, he let out a gasp. Looking around he found the sword and grabbed it. Pushing himself back up the shore. He laid still. To rest...

The small boat was gone... And he was left, back on... Illarion.
