Been trying to do that for a very long time... it even worked at some point!Bloodhearte wrote:But, if we have more people in town hiring other people to do things for them, it would give newbies a fighting chance of starting from the ground up to whatever success (or lack thereof) they want their character to get. Yet at the same time, something would always be in demand from older players, so they don't have to make constant trips to Eliza to make a profit by powergaming craftsmanship skills.

It would be nice to see some people actually being employed by other players. Some time ago I had some contracts worked out with people, where they'd supply me with a fixed ammount of ressources each week, and get paid for it + a bonus if they went over the limit. The problem with this kind of thing is that you need a steady income to be able to pay a steady salery, in order to keep people employed.
It basically keeps coming back to the fact that the economy in illarion is not moving fast enough. More people need to buy from more merchants, so the merchants can employ people. Which then allows the employees more money to buy things from the merchants for. Only when we eventually figure out a ring where everybody spends and earns can it be easy for newcomers to get involved in the whole system faster.
Hence, as I've stated many times before, we need armours, weapons ect that break, so people need to replace them. Additionally, we need there to be a greater price divide between the different weapons armours ect. to give people the incentive to accumulate - and spend - their wealth.
am not entirely sure I manage to get my point accross understandably, but I hope you get the jist.
