Is there anybody out there to do translations for the chronicle?

Please PM me!

Gibt es hier nicht jemanden, der fähig ist, die Chronik zu übersetzen?

Bitte per Pm bei mir melden!

The chronicle of the town was updated - English Version.

Now, there are the months Sept. 2003 - March 2004 available.

Only one error, the register isn't yet up to date. So go to September and than use the keys on the upper right corner to go forward to the next months.

I have to say that this so called english version uses awful english. The grammar is all wrong to the point of being repulsive. The spelling is simply shameful at parts. And I don't want to talk about the comprehension. I can barely understand what the writing is trying to say much of the time. Don't you have a native english speaker to help write this? If not get one because it is all just hideous. I know it took some time to get this done but the way it is now it would be better that it was not published at all. If it is to be done at all then do it right! I don't want to hurt any tender feelings but it is necessary that the truth be said plain and clear.

However, Cons has a point.

Maybe we should hire someone to correct all that?

Why not hand out a few pages to a few English speaking people to correct and make better. I'd volunteer to do a few on Friday (I have the day off :D )

Whoever is responsible for the chronicle:

Here you are!

You could just start, be sure that you don't correct the same text twice.

Send me any era or years in .txt form, or just in an e-mail, which ever will make it easier for you. My address is shogun_illarion@hotmail.com so you can also get in touch over MSN if you have it

Take the second year.

I would have to copy and paste it myself, so I guess it would be less work if you'd do it.

Right, I've made a start and I've come up with a suggestion:

Quote from the chronicle:
In the second year of the new era on April the 2nd, the marriage between Sir Sirius and Angaria was broken off.
How many people will know who these characters are? I'm not saying it is a bad thing, but we could have an alternative book entitled "The People Of The Chronicle." And considering I know none of the people, someone else should be given this task

Couldn't you do a little research first. You could rephrase it,

In the second year of the new era on April the 2nd, the marriage between the Halfling, of the Knights of the Grey Rose, Sir Sirius and his love, Angaria was broken off.

By adding those little indicators you give people reading the chronicle a little idea as to who they are. If they're then interested in learning more about those people, they can search the forum.

Personally I find the chronicles coherent enough to understand, and I wasn't even here for the time period of the newly published section. I like the chornicles just fine the way it is now; a recorded history from the point of view of players of characters with more or less similar ideologies. The last thing I'd want to see would be say Grant Herion turning a month into his own views while attempting to translate it. I also like how you have to kind of guess at some of the particularlly hazily written details of recorded history.

Hey, all I've added is how I owned Northerot and how the Dwarves of Silverbrand owe me 2000 ingots

No, but anyway, I'm re-writing the second year and i'm doing it as close to the main text as I can. History books are always re-written so it's just a copy that's got some better English grammar in it. I wouldn't guess the German translation written with bad grammar and they have to guess parts of what it means.

I'm just correcting grammar, and added in flowery English in places. And I've added a whole new month called Smarch. I'll have it ready by Monday.

Assuming from your board account's starting point of 23 April 2003, these were the results I found.
In the year 3 of the new era, on October the 31st, Arkadia Misella demands for a trial against Tialdin, but without success.
In the year 4 of the new era on march, the 15th, Alice asks for the liberation of Fooser and Arkadia Misella out of the prison and wonders why they deserve to be imprisoned. Adano Eles declares that both of them were found guilty having committed many crimes and thus in jail for good reasons.
Don't think any of your other characters that I know of have hit anything in the chronicles yet, or not that I know of..... (Wait, why am I bothering with this?)

Taht's all I am remembered for after all the evvviiillll things I did? ~~sighs~~
You should put in there Ark's rampage during the last war, and how she targeted citizens....that was far more important than Tialdin randomly killing me. :(

Its a chronicle about Trolls Bane. So the content have to consist mainly of city development or official announcments. A chronicle about catastrophies should be called: "Sad, but true" or "Adam and Evil" or ...
