Question for you guys...

I was wondering if for my character i could have a hobbit ranger who had left his villiage for certain reasons and then was befriended by a ranger and then learned the tricks of the trade and how to do what he must to survive i noticed that the dexterity of a hobbit would help in archery and the agility would help in the whole 'not been seen and eaten' part. but i dont know i havnt been accepted yet and i would like to do this but is this ok? or would it go against the flow of hobbit = peasant / theif class system?

You can surely play a Hobbit ranger. You can learn archery .. but you have to play it so that it fits the role of a hobbit.

They are very social creatures. However given their stature, hiding doesn't seem like it would be a problem. Halflings usually stick to groups alot for protection but also for company.

These observations are both correct but there are some exeptions to the dexterity of the hobbit. My hobbit has been acustomed to the way of fighting because of my freinds. In order to protect ones self you do need some skill perhaps not a lot but some in order to survive.

You wouldn't need skill if people RPed good, skill helps but don't "level" up and then say your strong, just ro your strong all the way through...

So, if i found some friends to join me, we could maybe make a settlement, the dexterity and agility would help with bowmanship so we would not be under much threat. Maybe i could be one who had left because he was made to as he was a delinquent or a loudmouth and was made to leave to learn more and then to one day return a better man, or leave because he wishes to broaden his horizens and tell his friends of what he has seen (and eaten)

Well a hobbit's nature isn't too leave their town unless forced. They liked to be close to home

His character already lives in Illarion, the island is is the Island, or Troll's Bane. Illarion is the world...maybe even the universe that the game is set in.

i hope so, maybe train me first, then as part of the story i have to defeat you in battle if i wish to leave you get a commrade for travelling and a bit of a story too... are we alowed to plan story so much in advance... oh yeh ive been accpeted but when do i know i can play for now i get a black screen and the res changes... with a pointy finger for my cursor? whats meant to happen
