Dream Quest
The child Elfess sat upon an ancient tree stump.
“They have all fallen asleep and should be arriving shortly” she said softly under her breath.
She rose to her feet and let her eyes wander the woods covered with mist, awaiting their arrival.
“Soon” She muttered, “..very soon”.

It was another of those wretchedly long days. Brendan's hands were full of wood splinters and his head full of woes. His cosy home in the middle of Greenbriar beckoned, and he gladly answered it's call.
His pillow looked so fluffy and inviting, he thought at this very moment it looked like puff pastry. He chuckled at the thought, and quickly derobed. He slipped into his night garments, crawled under the old and heavily patched quilt and fell fast asleep.
He felt his body twisting and turning, as if it was being drawn somewhere. He opened his eyes and smelled the familiar aroma of burning flesh, the aroma that he had smelled each night this week. Soon, his senses returned and it was clear to him, that he was no longer in his bed.
His eyes fell upon a child that was sitting on a tree stump. Feeling slightly embarassed in his night clothes, he pulled them close to his body. Compelled to approach the girl, he waved to her and saluted her with his usual greeting:
"Hiho!"

Moathia had fallen asleep in a distant corner of a forest, under a tree, and when she opened her eyes once more, she discovered a familiar forest, shrouded in mist, with one clearing in the center, the little elf girl and.....
"Brendan?"
She walks over to them, her long flowing nightgown covering her ankles, but not her bare feet.

Athian had been compelled out to the wilderness as well, he didnt' quite know why he was there but, he kept his eyes open. things were reminding him now of a strange dream he'd had, everything seemed surreal, as he walked through the tree's, as if everything might suddenly drop out fomr benath him, like something out of a nightmare. why was he here.
His eyes scanned about the area. something was different; about this place, something was amiss...
"Moathia? Brendan?"He say's aloud as he catches sight of the pair. Moathia approaching brendan and Brendan looking out at...the girl! Athian recognizes her the moment he catches sight of her. But instead of moving toward her He picks up his pace, to join Brendan and Moathia where they stand

Now aware that both Athian and Moathia are here, a sense of safety wells up within Brendan, noting how the girl doesn't answer, he turns to his friends, and looks up to their faces.
He poses a question to Moathia:
"You...you were having the same dreams as Athian and I? I wonder...hmmm...how many others there will be," he looks to the girl, an apprehensive look crosses his face, "and I wonder, who in the name of Oldra is she...?"

Athian looks from one to the other and shrugs.
"I'm not to sure myself. There are a few others who may have had this...dream as well, we can only wait to see if they appear. As to this Girl, i'm not to sure. Moathia, got any idea?"
He looks over to her and back to Brendan.
" well i guess we'll have to wait for her to tell us."

Moathia sits down on the grass, and picks a flower to sniff it, obviously she isn't frightened or intmidated, she looks at the little girl smiling, offering the flower to her.
"Come now little elven sister, sit with me, tell your guests your name, it's impolite not to. If you don't know who I am. My name is Moathia, the humans name is Athian, and the hafling is called Brendan, sit with us, and be merry, and not alone on your stump."

With the sickening taste of Moathia’s sobering potion still bitter on his tongue, Drathe felt a growing disappointment with reality. Though still a little guidy for the alcohols replacement of water in his blood, the forest sceen of a silent Elaralith and gathered people was all a little… mudane.
He yawned loudly, arms stretching out to ease his tense shoulders. ‘Well… if its all the same with you,’ he paused brifely in his words looking to the back of Moathias head. ‘I’ll be heading home.’ Not that he was sure which way home was, yet getting lost in the dark woods seemed more appealing than watching over a meditating woman.
The archer made from the group nodding with a smile at a familiar face or two. The sweet smell of sap played his nose, the cool earthy air did his skin just as his steps were comfortably soft on the leaf mulch of the floor. It was a plesant night save for a single thing, the twisted shoulder strap of his leather bag. With a slip of shoulderd fingers pulled at the strap, yet it had snagged its self in true illogical knotted style upon his dagger belt. The man curesed, the word loud to the ears of the nocturnal for the slience of a clear night. Easing his hand between hip and leather belt he made to pull through the strap. It was then his foot snagged, his hands shot out to break his fall… rather, they would have if not caught in the very straps they had tangled in to free.
Again came a curse as eyes widened to wach the dark hues of the forest ground rise up to greet them. The silence was broken once more by a heavy, dull thud and groan. Stars as bright as the sun shone as they danced a dazzeling waltz around his vision. A warm tickle stroked a line down his cheek , his hand strugled to be free to trace the line and see if it was sweat or blood. Then… it all fell distant…. It all fell to black.
The musky smell of earth filled his sense of smell and taste, the darkness gave way to vission as his eye lids slowly opened. His head did not hurt, the guiddy feeling had gone, just as his hands were now free and bag and belt seperate. The man pushed up and sat looking over to the child and the familiar faces he had not long left. A sniff and wrinkle of nose then he made comfortable, resting his arm over rasied knee.

The little girl stood and stared at the four that had arrived. She grinned slightly.
"Three of you have arrived in time. The others are late"
Her eyes narrowed as she gazed at the unknown man.
"You, however, are not suppose to be here. Away with you. Awake in your own plain!"
With a snap of her fingers the man vanished.
She turned to the remaining three.
"Moathia, Brendan, and Athian. As long as you sleep, you will dream. As long as you dream, I will always know you and your secrets."
She turned her head around the forrest.
"You three fulfill one side of the scale. The other side must be filled on order to obtain balance. They shall arrive shortly, at which point we can proceed."
The child sat back down on the stump and stared off into the nothingness.

The child stares back at the Elf.
"Be careful who you are calling child, as I far surpass you in time spent in exsistance. This is just one of many forms I prefer. Be patient, as the others will arrive and you shall see for yourself who they are. Sit. Relax. All will be explained once the three stand across from you."

Athian takes the que to relax, he walks off a few paces and sits quietly near a singular pine, that grows difiently in the clearing. his eyes look around him. he can see everything yet somehow everything remains dark. a feat he is still not able to explain, in word that might make sense in his head. and so he waits not saying much of anything. occasionally waving his hands about in the air. causing a crackle of fire. and tiny sparkles to fade in and out. His gaze occasionally bring him to the others who seem equally impatient to his eye. but there is nothing more to do but to wait.

Konstantin, who followed Athian to the meeting place without being noticed, stands in the trees not hurrying to reveal his presence, and watches the people. As always, his black coat hides him well.
He recognizes Moathia instantly, remembering her from a recent sea trip on Swiftwind.
"I wonder who is behind this... trying to bring these people all together...
Evidently, all of these or some of them had the same dreams that keep giving me sweats..."

Vahkos, disturbed somewhat by these messages briefly looks up into the sky from his sleeping stone. As you sleep, a foreign dream invades your peaceful slumber.
A light, brighter than any ever seen by your eyes is before you. It speaks calmly to you in a mellow voice.
"Collect the blood Fortinbris............ensure my return.....the time draws near.....save my restless spirit."
The light and all around you suddenly catch fire and endless screams are heard from all directions. You awake in a cold sweat with the scent of burned flesh circling around you.
Throughout the evening your dreams are peaceful and normal, until suddenly you are wisked away into an unkown wooded area. A child Elfess comes skipping along singing an old childrens rhmye. She comes to a halt in front of you.
"You're not suposed to be here. This is a holy place. Go back the way you came!"
You stumbled backwards a couple of steps not sure of what exactly is happeneing.
"Wait!" she cries out. "She has sent for you! Of course!"
She giggles uncontrollably.
"You are one of the chosen. You are needed. There are many others like you so do not fret. You must..." The child looks around nervously.
The woods become instantly cold as your breath can now be seen dangling in the air.
Almost instantaneous the child catches fire and turn into a pile of ashes before your eyes.
An echoe fills the woods "You will have a task before you, but now is not the time. Leave my woods, as I shall send for you when you are truely needed."
A large snapping sounds behind you, and as you spin around you watch in slow motion as an overgronw tree falls in your direction. Upon reaching your face you awaken.
Once more, you are breathing hard and sweat is pouring from your brow.
"...is my past catching up to me? Or is this another conjuring of some would be mage?"
It has been some time now and Athian has fallen asleep and rewakened back in the forest. he dreamed he was back on trolls bane out on the far beach past the skellies, but when he fell asleep there he was back here once again. it was getting hard to tell the differnce between which of these worlds as was the dream...An obvisous bad sign.
He sits up right and looks around, everything is the same as it was before. Brendan nd Moathia, and Kurtis of course who'd probably thought he'd come unoticed by Athian. but that was alright Kurtis had a pathilogical need to be shady. or at least thats the way he made it seem.
"how much longer now..." he says to himself. even though he knows not the answer

Brendan, with a forlorn and intensely weary look on his face hops to his feet and stretches.
He raises an eyebrow and looks at the elf. He grins to himself, and in the mood for mischief asks of the girl,
Alrighty, if this is a dream...then how come Athian, Moathia and that odd K fellow are all dreaming it at the same time?"
He pauses for thought:
And if this is my dream then where are the wood nymphs, hmm...hmm?!
He sighs and waits for an answer to the first (and hopefully) second question...

The child stands at the arrival of the two. She looks around and wrinkles her nose.
"Five? Five?!? There is one missing! This cannot be!"
She lets her fingers dance in the air as she counts them ver and over.
"We cannot wait any longer, we must proceed."
The child sits down upon the stump.
"I am Guildri. For centuries I have controlled your dreams with my brother, Driguil. I have thrown beauty into your visions, hope. He brings doubt and pain into your dreams. The balance is off and must be restored. You have all been chosen. All opposites in a never ending cicle.
Moathia, True and kind. Your heart is truly good, even though you hide it with a mild temper. Across from you in circle is Vahkos. A truly evil man with no intention of goodness but who shrouds himself from others with the illusion of being a decent creature. From there we travel to Brendan. Small weake hobbit who plays games and enjoys life thoroughly. On the other end Konstantine. A cold blooded assassin whose always looking for the quickest kill. Always plotting and planning. But alas, our last link to the circle is missing, and Athian has no match! No matter, this must be finished! Each of the pairs must complete a task for me in the physical realm. Tis the only way for the balance to be gained back!
Not long ago a terrile Sorceress left existance. She left behind a most powerful spellbook of encantations. Moathia and Vahkos, you must retrieve this book. You shall find it in the wesatern forests. Once the others have completed their tasks, Moathia, you must read a specific passage from the book, as it is written in Ancient Elvish and you are the only one here able to understand such writing. Brendan and Konstantine. In order to bring the balance right forward again, blood is needed to help calm the Bone Lord whom my brother is gaining his power from. Obtain a body's worth by any means neccesary, although I am sure both of your ideas shall conflict."
The girl begins to flicker as though not truly there.
"You see,. my power fades. I no longer the power to sustain this dream. I shall contact you all soon, and see the progress. Save me, save the dreams,. and most importantly, save yourselves!"
The child disappears, leave the five alone in the woods.

Athian who had not left his spot while he listened to the child, raises an eyebrow
"so i was called here for no reason. oh joy...there's always some 'higher power' pulling a random idiocy in my life." Athian stands up and walks about the group of people. " I wish to be sent home then, i've no need to be here apprently."
He rolls his eyes in a outwardly mocking way and sits down once again near the tree where hes been resting. "Enjoy your 'missions' "

Vahkos awakens after the interesting encounter with the weaver of dreams. After briefly glancing at his surroundings to make sure he is where he slept, he thinks to himself...
"Although I have no interest in promoting the ways of peace, I believe this can serve as retribution to the Bone Lord and his servants for their betrayal..."

Konstantin looks at Brendan without much motivation, with a meek smile.
Hhm. Well, Mister Mason, no matter how much you do or don't like me, we are together in this. As long as I cannot sleep - I am unhappy. So I want to end this not less than you.
However let me tell you, that I have been recently prohibited to harm a living being. Blood God is not my god, so I cannot violate my oath in his order.
This probably means that the actual process of blood collecting is up to you, fellow.
