Guiness Book Of Illarion Records - well read this

Post by Nocturna »

Hmmm... How about a book record (similar to guiness book of world records)
well I think its a nice idea from my point of view, it does not have to be put on the game
it can be shown here on Illarion.de on a new page, so there is no programming pain involved.
Almost everything can be put in the book ( like.. Strongest Warrior:, Most Deceiving: Intelligent Mage:, or even Darkest Veteran: and also maybe Illarion Hypocrite:.. yah something like that).
So tell me what do you think?... well at least reply to the thread =}

bye now........

I say, MOO.
For records, we would need competitions first.

Most silver wasted due to a bug, some old dude who lost 100+ silvers due to an old bug where you can't pick up items after dropped.  I can't recall who it was, but it was mentioned to me more then twice.

Aries dropped the 100 gold, which ended the hope of a Lizard Castle.

i think adding a book of records would just create a lot of people doing stupid things
like for ooc records(like Sirius longest playing time, ect.) people could just leave the player on all night and stuff like that
and for in-char records(like the strongest person, and other things you mentioned) 1) it is VERY hard,unless you get a huge competition where everybody takes part, to decide who is the best warrior and other stuff 2) it might make people go crazy with doing one paticular thing just to get a record and some attention, this game is not just about seeing how much money you can make or setting other records, it's about having fun and ROLEPLAYING, in RL do you spend ALL you time blacksmithing or planting cabbages to make money? I think it might take away from the atmosphere if everyone is always busy working to get a record, in RL we don't(at least the people i know) spend every waking moment trying to get into the guinness book of records, why? because there are 6 billion people in the world and less you are naturally good at something then you probably won't get a record, but in Illarion, nobody has natural abilities, it's purly work, no i know that might seem more fair, but i think it'll just make people become fanatics with how many records they can get ect. if you really want records, i thing it would be better if bror just occasionally surprised us with a few statistics or something like that(like the sirius thing) that way people won't(shouldn't is probably better) be spending all there time aimimng for a record because they don't KNOW what records htey can aim for. ok i'm done sorry for typing so much, and i probably repeated myself a lot..oh well..i was bored...i'll stop now :)

wow what a long post lol! i'm really gonna stop
