Bye
This game has become bland and boring and I spend more time complaining ooc about things i think are abused by players then I used to do roleplaying.
People have begun to take this game a second life instead of a game and I do not share the seriousness of this game.
This game has become more of a hardcore roleplaying game then a carefree anything can happen today roleplaying game.
People expect you to stick and keep your character the way you roleplay it, you cannot change him, and you cannot stop doing what he does because if you do you called a bad roleplayer.
Fooser quit because of the bullshit powers Hagen has, he was jailed perminetly, which although in real life it would seem realistic, it is a fucking game and there is no fair way to jail anyone perminetly.
Serp quit because he saw the problems in this game.
Crosis quit because the game became bland which it is.
People I used to roleplay a lot with have stopped playing because they saw the problems with this game clearer then i did.
So now I quit

Fine, I quit too. I don't want to stick around for any anticipated accusations or other BS. This game used to be really awesome, but now all the real good roleplayers are GONE because they were driven off by the horrible ones (I'm not even going to begin to to name them because you people should know who they are.) I don't really know how the GM's are involved, but they're not helping anymore (sorry guys, though you could care less about what I think). There are way too many limitations and too many lame answers for excuses. For anybody left who is a remotely good roleplayer: Enjoy, I'm out, probably for good. I have better things to do and places to be. I have other ways to waste my intelligence.

Well...sad to lose more players...I have a feeling good things are yet to come for those who remain though!
Anyways...I see people complain much at times about things that should change, but then realize, the people who work on this game DO change things, and when they do, people nag about it.
Also, some people take this game seriously, and other dont. I definatly dont make things EXTREME at all. I just act out ideas and try to have fun with it. After all, I love to RP.
And Grant, its not that people are called bad RP's because they change their char...its that they might not know how to go about it. Veralion has changed many times in many ways, hehe.
About people obtaining powers, I think it spices up the game about it. Although it might seem unfair at times. I look at people in RL and see them get to do rediculus things sometimes. Though, i do not agree with permanent jail...but hey, it could happen if you do something bad enough.
And believe me, the game gets boring sometimes. Ive played this thing close to 4 years now. With the clan, Veralion has been the last standing skull at one point in time...but he worked it back up baby!
There are problems I suppose. But I guess I have come to deal with them.
Im not antagonizing anyone at all. Just stating my opinon on things that grant pointed out and a bit more... I dont think we should bash the people who run the game. They mean good anyway.
Hope this didnt come through all jumbled up... And Grant, I thought you were an awesome RP
Good playin with ya, and a final Farebaa!

Wtf is wrong with the roleplayers these days? When I started playing this game it was so addicting and fun because people were actually roleplaying. After a while I formed my character and joined a clan and the game got even more fun. During the drought I began to see a few new people powergaming, but it did not really matter, there will always be some of them.
I am definately not the best roleplayer in the world, being Sess with all his mood swings and bad attitude most of the time, but I never thought this would happen in the game. Ever since this war started...-no, since the new system, the powergamers and 'bad roleplayers' have been worse than ever.
-Fighting skeletons is like fighting demons from the old system but easier, since they don't hit as hard. People train on them and gain lots of easy experience
-It has become easier to fight because you can take many more hits
-Now the magic is not skill based, you can learn any kind of magic, no matter your intelligence
-The paralize spell lasts WAY too long, long enough for someone to be killed like.... 5 times before they can move again, and by then the spell caster has drinken enough mana potions to refill their mana so they can paralize the victim again and again
Those are just a few reasons the system is not good. But those are only problems because people abuse the system. A few other things I see people do are:
-Abuse the magic system by paralizing, casting flames on the paralized victim, then paralizing again, until the victim is dead
-MASS powergame with potions on the skeletons or by casting magic on eachother, gaining their magic skill and resistances
And theres one more thing.....
I thought the GM's were supposed to handle things like this. They have stopped non rpers (ex: people with names like Darklordkiller....ect.) but they need to do more than that. I can see that they are stopping people from posting OOC in the boards but I would rather have that than terrible rp in the game! Without any order, this game will become runescape, a never-ending war between the strong, each trying to be the best, until they get so annoyed and bored that they leave the game, then once they leave new players join the war and the whole cycle continues....
Keikan, since you 'took power' the game has become total CRAP! I am not blaming this just on you, but I have not seen a Gamemaster actively ingame for a while if ever. I definately do not expect you to be in the game all day long every day, but I think there should be at least one GM online every or every-other day, so they can keep order.
Because of this bad problem, I have heard that at least 4 others I know are deciding to quit this game if it doesn't change. I myself will quit playing as my character Grubba. I was telling some friends about this game, but now I will tell them that it sucks and that they shouldn't join.
Well I'm bored with this and I guess I'll wrap it up. This game sucks. Make it better or it will just get worse. I hope you all have fun fighting off the bad roleplayers.

you all want to leave because of the bad roleplay of others, but you want to leave WITHOUT any roleplay? no quest? no story? nothing? that is poor. as a good roleplayer, i would do that. and not just say "iam off now". really no last final scene? something what could make the movement important for the game chronicles?
by the side, i liked it to roleplay with kincent and sess. in the old days them and galim were, well, friends i would say. and it was good roleplay that time. it started to become worse the day movement was found. sorry guys, but you could have done something better with the movement. but you ruined the game on your own. there was alot of possibilitys for a real good roleplay, but ya destroyed them all on your own. that is sad. i think it all started the day you, the players, decided to be against the ig-organization lyrenzia. just look at grants characters. bumbol, against lyrenzia, Grant, against lyrenzia, gorock, against lyrenzia. well, all the same. that is sad. you guys just overdone it. that is the problem. you wasted alot of good possibilitys for the movement to be a real good ig-group. to become famours for their roleplay. not just for their attacks and fights.
oh, and again grant. fooser wasn't jailed by hagen ig. he was jailed by the gms, for ooc-reasons. but you never listen when someone is telling you something. that is your problem. and i hope fooser weill be back in game soon, because i liked it to play with him too. it was crazy, but it was fun.
See ya, may ya find a place where your way of roleplay fits better with the existing roleplay

Er, maybe the players behind the characters did not like Lyrenzia either. We were right not to seeing as it hasn't made the game any better. In game, our characters couldn't do anything to stop Lyrenzia. It sort of invaded our role-playing and began the legacy of new rules and regs and limitations as to what we could or could not do. Either be law abiding and accept Lyrenzia and the rest of the new changes or be screwed.
Or was it the other way? Think about this for a minute, ill use the drought as an example. WITHOUT Lyrenzia: The people of the town would all have to come together and try different solutions to the drought. WITH Lyrenzia: The townspeople had to wait for a proclimation from the seven person council. (or whatever number)Galim wrote:i think it all started the day you, the players, decided to be against the ig-organization lyrenzia.
Apparently, it became an IC jailingHagen von Rabenfeld wrote: 1) Incineration (8 cases another 19 estimated)
2) Attempted murder (6 cases another 16 estimated)
3) Murder (9 cases)
4) Luring monsters into town (4 cases)
5) Kidnapping (2 cases)
6) Disrupting a holy ceremony (and endangering the whole island, that was suffering from the drought)
7) Worshipping the bonelord in his former cult.

my 2 charicters whould have diferent opinions on this but as for me I wish everyone leaveing well and sorry to see you go .
Grant if you even look at this befor not ever looking agin you personaly I think are a decent player and have very good OOC points even if Jim Boneclub was at war with the movement and the rock tribe .
also Jhon whould just be neutrall as always he would think Grant was a good leader to go after Darlok but not very mutch so on the other war fronts . Jhon whoulden't have a opinion on your other charicter(s?) because he never meet them or has never been involved with them as mutch .
well good luck in all you do to: the player behind Grant from: the player behind Jhon Sivan

The damned day it started was the day that Lyrenzia became freaking invincible. Lyrenzia has made RP so freaking corny that there is no longer any point. They have imposed their laws and have made promises they can't keep. You know what would happen in a well role-played situation of this? People would rebel! Duhhhh! That's what people have done, and it hasn't done anything.Galim wrote:i think it all started the day you, the players, decided to be against the ig-organization lyrenzia.
The day it started was the day that the people who run Lyrenzia decided to be poor with their RP, just randomly have thousands of town guards when its convenient, then be completely unaffected by EVERYTHING EVERYONE has said and done to Lyrenzia. Its stupid, people won't roleplay against Lyrenzia because they KNOW that its basically held up by people who kiss GM ass and GMs themselves, thus meaning that they will just be thrown out of town for jack shit. If people would actually listen to what I, or Malinne, or so many other good RPers had to say, then things would be different. Lyrenzia would actually be a fun thing to roleplay for and/or against.
Don't even ask me for proof of any of this either. Obviously there is no proof, because its either deleted from the boards or its far too deep in the log files to even bother. It would help if the GMs weren't so damn stubborn. I honestly don't think they listen.. no.. they listen. I honestly don't think they consider what they are listening to. The last active GM was Serpardum. He saw what was happening to Illarion and left before things became too shitty.
Then maybe your title should be changed to Game Technician. Obviously the work that is being done isn't improving the gameplay at all. What exactly is it that you do?Keikan Hiru wrote:You just cant see us anymore.
Every change made to Illarion since Lyrenzia's creation has made the game spiral even further into the pit known as "crap." The last time I was on, the only people actually roleplaying were the newbies who had no idea what anything was yet. The other whopping 2 people that were on were talking to me ooc, agreeing with me about how crappy things have become. I've got an idea. Change things back. Where's the harm in that? I think that if you change something and people complain about it, change it back to the point where the least amount of people complained. There's no shame in FIXING something, is there? I didn't think so.
I'm starting to wonder if its a matter of arrogant pride and power-flaunting, since we never receive any EXPLANATIONS as to why anything is added, removed, or changed. I, along with many others I am sure, don't give a shit about whether or not you don't HAVE to tell us. If you don't, we're only going to stay pissed.
We're tired of the invincible governments that form from thin air and the kings who can only be overthrown for a day since they're GMs. The moment Lyrenzia started its rampage of crap is the day things went bad.
I'm sorry to see two excellent roleplayers quitting for the same reasons I have not been playing, but I certainly cannot say it surprises me.

sorry cain, but after i read ya whole shit, excuse this word please, ya wrote, i don't think that ya are any lost for the game. really, iam sorry about that. really sorry, because it wonders me that i have such an oppinion. if ya think a organization, builded by the strongest guilds of the isle, and accepted by the bigger parts of the peoples can be destroyed by a few peoples who writes bad words at the wall or swing a sword against the citizens, than, i have nothing to say to you anymore. sorry. stop mixing ig and ooc. that is all i cans ay to you. and the whole game would do more fun for you. see ya.
and to the others who want to leave. i just wnat to say, you really should think about a final roleplay. that would be the best.

Right on Cain! Power to the people!
I Totally agree with you. there are alot of things I say to people Out of game (RL people) that i have never Dared say in character or on the board. The game is falling into nothing. Look at it. The number of "I'm leaving" posts has near doubled in the last month or two and the reason has changed a bunch too. Before people would say "I'm leaving because of my Joining the Military (Ex Malinne)" Now it is "I'm leaving because this game is horrible now and you definelty need to fix things" Hello! Wake up! The average person would see this as a sign saying "people must be loosing interest we should try to fix this"

Mixing IG and OOC? Heh, perhaps the people supporting Lyrenzia should stop doing that first. As expected, you really didn't read, or consider anyway, anything that I wrote. Honestly, I don't really give a damn if you think I'm not a loss for the game. I never said I was anyway.Galim wrote:sorry cain, but after i read ya whole shit, excuse this word please, ya wrote, i don't think that ya are any lost for the game. really, iam sorry about that. really sorry, because it wonders me that i have such an oppinion. if ya think a organization, builded by the strongest guilds of the isle, and accepted by the bigger parts of the peoples can be destroyed by a few peoples who writes bad words at the wall or swing a sword against the citizens, than, i have nothing to say to you anymore. sorry. stop mixing ig and ooc. that is all i cans ay to you. and the whole game would do more fun for you. see ya.

Here's what I think about an organization built of all the guilds:
Its bullshit. When Lyrenzia was formed, all that was basically said was "join Lyrenzia or don't be part of Troll's Bane." That isn't the part that I care about. Its the reason that people joined that pisses me off to no end. People had their guilds join Lyrenzia, rather than opposing, because they knew that Lyrenzia was made up of old players and GMs. That's the only reason so many of the guilds joined. They thought that Lyrenzia was actually going to be beneficial, as in provide quests for people that have more than one real solution. PLAYERS hoped that Lyrenzia would provide the game with more flavor, not all the stagnation it has caused in game. I will stop mixing IC with OOC when the original IC/OOC problem with Lyrenzia is resolved.
Here I am, addressing problems that ARE AFFECTING the game in negative ways, and you're just saying "stop mixing IC with OOC." That, in all honesty, is a load of crap. That's like saying, "Be mindless roleplaying slaves. Roleplay cliché roles from books like Lord of the Rings and have no originality because we will just shoot down ALL your ideas anyway!" There is a point where ic and ooc MUST intersect. Otherwise, people cannot fix problems that are occuring. Why do you think so many old, good roleplayers are leaving the game, Galim? Answer me that.
