New Magic Wand Graphic

Post by Nilo »

Okay! So the magic wand (to me) looks like a decorated easter egg on the end of a small pole, with two thorns sticking out of the middle painted yellow.

Well, i made a new graphic for it.... This took me about 2 hrs. to get (what i think is) the right perspective, according to a tile... and is centered right. Here is the linke...

What do you think? :)

Looks nice... but it looks sort of like a Rapier.

Not too bad.
Would you mind rendering a cube for me as well?

It looks rather simplistic, but maybe you can add details later.

uhm, that is a joke, right? well. iam no expert in graphik. but i cannot see where that is a magic wand. it looks more like a sword, or just a metall staff with some handle. i really know NOTHING about graphic, but well, that isn't a magic wand for me.

I dont see whats wrong with it. It looks much more realistic than the old one... I think it looks like a long skinny wooden pole, which is what a wand should be...

a magic wand is, in the traditional fantasy, 2 metres long, wooden or of some others magical materials. it is curved, with many ornaments, and it have a knob at his end. this knob often have some strange form, or is a gemstone or something like that. THAT is a magic wand. but ya have just a metal staff.

There is no such thing as a traditional fantasy magic wand. Magic wands differ in every form. Also, what you describe is more of a blessed staff, not a wand.

What you mean is a staff.

Wands are usually much shorter.

Simple:

The wand is designed for mages, who have no use for shields. To keep things even, the shield item block is blocked with a wand so that mages dont cheat.

well, okay, i made a failure. but for me, that is still no "wand". too plain. and it is hard to see what it should be.

by the side, in german a wand is a "zauberstab", and the "stab" in it means "staff" in english :)

The concept is not interesting but boring.
But the style and the perspective and the size is right, which makes it promissing. However, for a real item it's much too simplistic.

A baton is a T shaped staff, with two grips, its around 2ft long on average, and is grippable anywhere on the shaft.

That wand has a defined grip, however, I think more along the lines of "Wooden training sword" when i see it.

I thought about a baton (the one a conductor uses) or a skewer. Not a magic wand.

Yes, Nilo's wand looks like a conductor's baton, thin and rather puny looking. But I think the magic wand we have now seems unrealistic... I mean, why is it purple?

Well, i got the handle idea from Harry Potter... well, its not suposed to look metal, i gave it a wooden texture, but i suppose i can edit it a bit more and give it better texture...

Also, I couldnt give it a great amount of detail, as it must be small and thin, thus making it as grant put it, "puny".

arg. well it has to be small, so i cant add hardly any detail.... If your think its that bad try making one yourself!!

Anyhow, im working on it. I think ill try to make it a little bit bigger, which would allow for alightly more detail....
