Perhaps I have been too disinterested in what goes on because of Lyrenzia, but I have not heard a good enough reason for Fooser's imprisonment. He is one of the few friends that still live here and now I am bored. No wonder he would break laws. He just wants to get a rise out of you shallow people. You're all boring! Let him out... Please? And Arkadia too? She is nice to me. I just met her today. I wandered back in town and asked if Fooser was still imprisoned, and he was indeed! Nobody could give me an answer why. Can you? Can I believe your answers? You are probably all biased like you were accused of being before. And I found Ark locked in there with him. Locking a female human and a lizard man in the same cell is not appropriate! We do not want MORE crossbreed's do we? Just look at Delia! She's funnier looking than her sister! Fooser says he will be a slave to whoever gets him out, you know. He can be my slave and I will make sure he behaves! Please? Ark wants to find Darlok. I don't know where he is, but if he sees this can he find me? Perhaps you can help, Darlok? You are more powerful than me. I have always wanted to meet you though I know you probably want nothing to do with a young girl like me... Whoever can help, please do. I want my friends to be freed. I really miss Fooser and though I don'y know Ark, I'd like to meet her face to face.

Let them out! Fooser has been in too long and Arkadia is not meant to be trapped in such a miserable place. They don't get food or water! It's inhumane for you wretched people to do this to these free spirited beings!

Don't ask such silly questions, little child. There are the right persons in the prison.

Alice sniffs the messages left for her to read, recognizes the scents and with a smile begins to write:

I didn't say they were the wrong people for the right purpose. The purpose must be wrong in the first place too. Nothing is right in this place! Of course not much could be expected from your replies as these notes were written by a fool! Besides, what difference would it make if one or two more things were wrong here? There is no order in this place. The government of Lyrenzia is still a joke to me, as all probably are. Whoever is responsible for their imprisonment is wretched. I still have no answers to my questions, so if you want to criticise me, at least give me answers if you are so much better than I. I just want my friends to be set free...

Arkadia Misella attacked innocent civilians of Troll's Bane.
Fooser is a known criminal who never left out any opportunity to wreak chaos in our town. He is also a member of the Movement and hence banned from the streets of Troll's Bane, a fact that never kept him from entering the town with the sole purpose of harrasing people.
If you want more reasons talk to a town guard, I am sure they can give you many more.

If he is banned from your streets, how can he be put into your jail. It seems people that live inside the town have no problem killing those outside the town without reason.

Arkadia is an elf, not a human, and even if they tryed, I doubt they could breed, because lizards lay eggs, and how dare you talk about cross breads like that. I am not one, but my children will be, you are a child Alice, you look 15 but you act 10, your ignorant and stupid. No I do not agree with Lyrenzia or their system of law keeping, but a cold blooded murder, and a lizard who helped her to attack a pregnant female halfling deserve to be in prison, and it is my feeling the clan of the axe should also be in prison because of their assault on an unarmed farmer, but the town is far to biassed to the people who support them to care about that.

Excuse me for not knowing that Arkadia was an elf. I never got to meet her in person. I suppose elvin lizards would make more sense. And let's just track down Fooser and punish him for something vague like "wreak chaos" in town or being involved with the movement. It sounds like there was no real, definite reason to lock him up. So what if he's strange and likes excitement? Let's lock up every other person instead of picking on an individual because of how boring it is here.

Alice begins to laugh.

I LOOK fifteen, eh? That's the first I've heard. You have not met me yet and you call me stupid. If I were, I'd be dead by now. I doubt that Fooser didn't intend attack a pregnant female halfling. I'm sure he woke up one morning and told himself, "Gee I wonder where I can find a pregnant female halfling to attack. That would be a good idea. Oh, Ark is looking for one, I guess I'll help her out." Assumptions are stupid. Perhaps they had a different motivation and someone failed to tell them she was pregnant, not that I think it really makes a difference. If someone ever comes after me, I should get pregnant so they stop, right? Besides, what if Arkadia was pregnant? It's not very nice to lock her up with no food or water. The important details are being disregarded and I don't appreciate it. Sorry if I offended your future halfbreeds, I'm sure they will pop out pretty and healthy. It sounds like everyone is biased here.

Hmm... I wonder how many people Fooser killed with words. I mean, I've been called names and told nonsense so much... I've even had things thrown at me and I'm still alive and I'm not complaining. Petty incidents can be handled without the stupid government. I'm not going to argue so much about killing innocent people though. Sounds like Arkadia is out anyway.

Lyrenzia did not throw Fooser into jail. As Fooser said, he lives there. He is the town torturer.

Why has he been forced to that task? What did he do for that? Who is responsible for punishing him? He wants out, it's not like he enjoys his new home and takes his imprisonment as a job. He is being punished for reasons too vague.

Alice, Fooser has made some wrong decisions on this island and I don't think there is much question about it. I know no one likes to be in there, but he did wrong and I think he is paying for his crimes.

Not all wrong decisions are crimes are they? Even I admit to making wrong decisions before; nobody is perfect. Fooser is just silly and has no evil intentions. He just like pulling pranks and getting reactions out of the towns people. He is strange, yes, but this place is dull without people like him running around wreaking havoc. I don't think he is a criminal, and I will continue to say it is not justified and the reasons I am given are still too vague!

Alright, I'm not sure how much some of you are able to absorb, but read the following sentence as slow as possible if needed:

I didn't attack any pregnant halflings, I just didnt stop the attack from happening.

I believe you, Foos, and really it was not your place to intervene. You may have been hurt or killed because of it. And seeing as you are accused just because you kept your distance, it's a good thing you did. Your effort could have been a waste.

I find it rather amazing that no one still understands that I only asked her for her name and she attacked me first with a scyth....I only defended myself and made sure not to kill her. This is why I no longer show mercy...in the end it brings me nothing but trouble.

You asked for her name, she refused, you put her in a bag, since she wouldn't tell you then, you trapped her in the shop, and threatened her, she tried to escape by stunning you with the sythe and you shot her in the leg, by accident, you admitted to trying to kill her later.

Your story is wrong. Youw ere not there. Only Fooser, myself, and Rosa were there and she has lied. Due to my "reputation" her side has won out. If I had wanted her dead...she would have been dead. A pity so many believe these people and follow them so blindly.

A shrouded elf posts a note onto the town wall, scurrying swiftly away soon after. The note reads:

Citizens of Troll's Bane,

I have read everything here concerning Fooser and his alleged crimes. The first word that comes to my mind is "disgust." I can hardly believe that someone such as Fooser would be imprisoned, especially considering he never really does anything against the laws of morality, much less the laws that are imposed upon us by Lyrenzia. Whatever Lyrenzia dislikes becomes against the law. This is what you, the people of Troll's Bane, have allowed to happen by saying nothing and doing nothing when Lyrenzia first came into being. Now they have your lives in their grasp, dangling your freedom from their fingertips, just out of your reach.

Nothing has been explained as to why Fooser is imprisoned, other than on the grounds that he is not perfect. Well, I can certainly say that if Lyrenzia continues this path, everyone will be imprisoned for being imperfect. Fooser's decisions are not ones that require imprisonment. No proof has been given, no reasons other than the vague usual excuse of "his involvement with the Movement" and "his crimes in the city." Until there are answers provided, the Lyrenzia Foundation will continue to look like a group of incompetent people.

Those who have wronged Fooser,

You are rather poorly choosing whom you send to prison. Fooser has not committed any crimes that violate the sanctity of this town, nor the official laws of Lyrenzia. A government should not exist when it decides to take the power of choosing what laws to abolish and what laws to reinforce on a situational basis. So far, you who have wronged Fooser have done nothing but twist and form your own laws that you have already imposed on us all. A government is not designed for this purpose. A government is designed to keep order and uphold justice, not to keep favorites and anti-favorites. You do not do Fooser justice by imprisoning him so harshly. You only torment a lizardman who is innocent under your own written laws. You have betrayed both Fooser and yourselves, as a government and as mortal beings.

Let Fooser out of prison, he has done nothing to violate common law. He has only made decisions that provoke your empty, baseless hatred for him. He has spoken of your follies, something that is a well-known fact. Fooser is not the wrong-doer in this case; he is the wronged. Let Fooser go. Put aside your biased opinions and games of "favorite citizens" and do what is truly, morally right.

Inobsequiously yours,

You are correct. Everything that Lyrenzia does is a result of YOUR choices, or lack of, as the people of Troll's Bane.
"Whatever Lyrenzia dislikes"... hmmm... I wonder who decides what Lyrenzia dislikes? Hmmm.... maybe the councilors decide? And who decides who the councilors are? Hmmm.... mabye the ones who choose them? Such as the guild members who chose their leader and the public who vote (or do not vote) for their public councilors?

So please explain to me, what exactly enables "Lyrenzia" to decide to do something "bad" when their actions are the net result of their councilors and those who choose/allow them to be councilors?
Are more than 50% of their councilors "bad" then?
If so, why do their supporters choose them?
Why does a guild not pick a different leader if they are "bad"? Why don't the public choose more representitives if they aren't satisfied with the council?
If Lyrenzia is constantly doing wrong, then obviously the fault lies at the heart of those who have the power to choose their leaders, which is basically all their guild members and anyone who has lived here for 3 months? Pretty much the bulk of the island's population. So who exactly are you blaming then?

I know who I blame. I blame the ones who are like a certain elf I remember. A certain elf who decided to throw away his right to vote and shape Lyrenzia, just because he was so emotionally troubled and prejudiced that he thought he was "indirectly supporting" Lyrenzia just by being able to vote. Ha! Instead of nominating and voting for those who could represent his interests, he would rather just try to blame the general name of "Lyrenzia" just because he was angry and confused, looking for a scapegoat to blame his troubles and loneliness.

"Wah wah wah I don't like what the foundation does, and yet I don't use my power to choose people I can put on the foundation."

And before you give me any crap about how many public councilors there can be, note that is written at Lyrenzia Castle and the town walls that up to 5 spots were available already since the first election.

So are we really going to disregard those who haven't the opportunity to vote? And even when the voters choose their council members, it doesn't change the fact that those people have their own mind. Any day you could choose a leader that seems all great and wonderful and the next they change their image and show what they are really like. I don't see enough voting anyway, at least not for immediate purposes. Just because someone doesn't vote doesn't mean they shouldn't live well. It seems that Lyrenzia is just trying to scam people into joining.
...and yet I don't use my power to choose people I can put on the foundation
who decides who the councilors are?...members who chose their leader and the public who vote (or do not vote) for their public councilors?
The public, you might as well not exist if you do not support Lyrenzia. This place and population is to small for a system like this. Lyrenzia is rotten. According to those who represent and support Lyrenzia, we should only support the majority (which is still a small number) and damn the rest!

Sir Freemont,

im very sad that you do not think that the following crimes are not against the laws of morality.

1) Incineration (8 cases another 19 estimated)
2) Attempted murder (6 cases another 16 estimated)
3) Murder (9 cases)
4) Luring monsters into town (4 cases)
5) Kidnapping (2 cases)
6) Disrupting a holy ceremony (and endangering the whole island, that was suffering from the drought)
7) Worshipping the bonelord in his former cult.
8) Membership in a criminal organisation (Movement and the Tree Shadows)

Your concept of morality eludes me. But perhaps you just twist your concept around, as you wish, as long as it serves your political goals?

Concerning Fooser:

He is in prison for an undefined amount of time, because his release would be a threat towards the public. We had already jailed and released him again and he didnt show any sign of changing his behaviour. So this is the consequence. The most important argument for this decision, is a simple one. He takes pleasure in the pain of others.
Only ONE Example: As i entered the shop and witnessed, what Arkadia and Fooser were doing to the pregnant woman, he acted like it would have been nothing but a joke from a teenager and grinned wildly, obviously enjoying himself.
And be assured, if we would jail everyone we think imperfect, the jail would be full of agitators like you. But, obviously, you are still free.

Fooser is a mentally disturbed person and to let him roam our streets again would be nothing but to fail in our duty to protect the citizens. And our decisions will not be influenced by whining for compassion or polemics directed to support the cause of criminals like your friends in the Movement.

Do you understand who are those who don't opportunity to vote? I say its pretty fair that is is only repeat criminals and people who haven't even lived in our town for 3 months. Or do you want anyone who is anyone who just appears out of nowhere to vote right away? Well, I have 10,000 friends all named George who want you to wear fluffy pants.

So what? Who's fault is it that you make bad choices of leaders? Who's fault is it if you join anti-law movements giving up your right to live peacefully in our town? What is the rest of the town supposed to do about your mistakes? I have suffer for YOUR mistakes now? What exactly do you want?
I vote for who I want to be leader and so I get what I want them to do for me. You choose not to vote when you could and then bitch at the rest of us that the government doesn't do what you want? Well boohoo.

The public, you might as well not exist if you do not support Lyrenzia. This place and population is to small for a system like this. Lyrenzia is rotten. According to those who represent and support Lyrenzia, we should only support the majority (which is still a small number) and damn the rest!

Oh yeah? So then what do you want us to do, we should do what the minority wants instead? How stupid you are. When what they want contradicts each other, then of course the "majority" will overpower the "minority". It's simple math whether in context of plain numbers or measure of strength. This exists whether or not Lyrenzia does.

Keeping in mind that what the majority and minority wants contradicts each other, just who do you think you are trying to convice when you address the "people", that "we" should not only support the "majority" huh? The "minority" who's already opposed to the issue, or the "majority" to reject their own desires? Uhh???? Your fruitless plight makes no sense.

What I find strange is that even citizens of other villages and supposed "Guilds of Lyrenzia" often maintained and joined by people of other villages have a vote.

Why does Evergreen get a council member in Lyrenzia? Why does Silverbrand get a council member in Lyrenzia? If it wasn't enough that Silverbrand gets a council member, the Clan of the Axe, through deception, tries to convince us, the people aboveground, that they are a group sovereign from Silverbrand, when they act as their guardsmen!

The Silverstar Merchants, primarily run by dwarves of Silverbrand nowadays, also get a seat on the council. I suppose one could say that that is fair, for they run a business here aboveground; rather, I would say that this makes things entirely unfair. If one only needs a business in the village of Trollsbane to be considered eligible for a seat on the Lyrenzia Council, we could easily be dominated by foreign robber barons in no time.

Let us look at who else has a seat on the Lyrenzia Council:

The Magic Academy holds a seat on the council. The man who carries this position for them is Dyluck. From my understanding, he has not left his wizard tower in quite some time. For all we know, Dyluck could have died a long time ago. His wizard tower hides this secret...

The Order of the Grey Light holds a seat on the council. The membership of the Grey Light is entirely secret, except for their representative. They are an order of spies. If it weren't that they were one of the first guilds involved with Lyrenzia, there would be no basis for them to be voted in, as they remain quiet of who they are. For all we know, the Grey Light Order could consist of Dragorog, Darlok, and Madrook Na'han's mother! Only Damien would know...

The Knights of the Grey Rose holds a seat on the council. They are an offshoot of the Grey Light. Originally they were part and parcel with the Grey Light. Now, rather, they are "allied." The accusation could be made that the only reason they are no longer an official part of the Grey Light Order is so that the Order of the Grey Light could have an extra seat, much like the Silverbrand/Clan-of-the-Axe chicanery.

I am not saying there there is a private conspiracy among the dwarves to rule the continent. I am not saying that Darlok nor Grant Herion should rule. I am not asking for an Anarchy. What I am saying, however, is that it is not foolish to think these things, given that foreign entities, such as the dwarves of Silverbrand, get as much say, if not more, as the citizens who live, eat, and breed in the village of Trollsbane.

When it comes down to it, a republic such as this will not work in our racially divided lands. Humans, who are the true majority, show varying biases in political situations. Conversely, would a dwarf of Silverbrand vote for anyone other than a dwarf from Silverbrand, I ask you? What if it were in the common good? Would they then vote against a dwarf of Silverbrand? I think not, in most cases.
