A Proposal to the Gods of Illarion - I have long thought abo

Post by Erdrick »

I have come with 3 proposals. One is a distant but a proposal nonetheless.

Proposal A:
.SHADOWS.
We could have SOME shadows coming off certain buildings... just to add some reality to the never-ending day of Illarion. Although we would need angles of the sun's rays, etc. Really distant, probably shouldn't even consider this one.

Proposal B:
.HOUSES.
We could have experienced players be blessed with the power to build things. This was my only idea, since I wholeheartedly agree with Peace Keeper's view of building things. New players would most definately misuse this power, if it was permanent, and if it was not permanent, well then whats the point?

Proposal C:
.THIEVERY.
We could have a thieves' column under skills, where we could experience in pickpocketing. If we were better thieves, we could gain a little more money from dead opponents. (ex. trolls) and if we advanced deeply into this category we could pickpocket small amounts of gold from nearby players. This could be a next class, along with bards.

I had another proposal, also (last minute) that libary research should be in other skills (since it isn't related to magic in any way shape or form), and if it is it is just as related to it as it is to druid's skills. So in short I think the research is in the wrong category.

Thank you for listening and considering my proposals, and please give your opinions.

Sincerely,
Erdrick, Master of SilverStar Merchants

Not to spam but:
Onto the thieves idea, this could be used with "knocking people unconcious"
I believe martin said something about him working on that now...
Maybe a figure of a race sitting down on the ground (unconcious of course)

I also thought about belts... maybe a belt slot in your char screen?

And, if Bror or someone else could tell us the progress on the map editor, that would be great.

Thanks for looking at my ideas and have a nice day.

Yours,
Erdrick, etc..

i dont like the thief idea... but i think it might be nessecary to keep the realism...
but you should be able to detect it... so you might punish the thief..
and if the thief is crappy other people might see him pickpocket... so that not only the victim will vitness it...

and the building... yes... great idea... one should be able to do it after he is permitted by the gods...

THANK YOU Leif for replying!
And yes the thief idea would be bad to merchants... but fun :)
That was an idea that went along with te "unconcious" idea.
As for houses this would also help with the builders idea.

Yes, a police force has been discussed along with judges for IN GAME punishment (Punishment with Roleplay).  The discussions about the judges happened at the latest guild meeting which had about 10 guild leaders attended.  Also, I believe the police force was discussed at the first meeting which I was unable to attend.  There will have to be at least 2 more guild meetings before these are implemented so there will be about a month or two if the guild leaders choose for these plans to go ahead

@Shadows: This would require every graphic in two versions: light and dark (or create the dark one online, probably slowing the client down significantly)
@Houses: The system for building, how it is planned is explained on this site (rules -> something)
@Thievery: Next version thief skills like pickpocket and trap building will be introduced
@Map editor: it is almost completed (i.e. can be used). To create maps for the server the server has to be changed.

about thieves

I'm sure Bror has a firm idea of using stats and such towards this as well.

Perhaps thieves can Also have a skill called backstab. The intital hit depending on skill takes mroe damage and a slightly better chance to hit, but must attack from "behind"

My main thing to speak of is how to allow thievery without it becoming a nuisance beyond control.

Archers must be shown to others. Perhaps when archers are firing thier name turns white or something.

Likewise if this was how archers will work than When a thief tries to steal and is unsuccessful his victim should auto attack AND his name should appear red for x ammount of time. If he is successful no one knows.

Lastly these are all great things to add, but in the end the same things I thrist for. More monsters, MAGIC monsters, Hidden/secret items of anykind "preferably useful"

And new lands to explore with hidden dangers.

The demon and rott worm are difficult yes.. but somehow Bror there must be a way to develope more difficult creatures "my opinion ones who use magic"  that are reasonable. This also may mean changing the skill system to increase even more and adding things.

Hopefully it will come to pass and you can try it out work out the bugs annd impliment it.

I wait eagerly for development and give my offer to help in any way possible.

Wouldn´t it be funny if  thieves can be put in some cells or a thing we call in german "Pranger" and everyone can see him there for a while (player musnt be online - would be to costly), say 1 or 2 RL hours

I already mentioned:
Stealing GOLD COINS depending on your thieving skills (probably 50 at max)
And you would probably have to wait a little while to thief again.
