Question on system requirements / video adapters

Post by Lowthamier »

Hi, I recently applied to be admitted. I have read a lot in the posts and all the info on the website about the game. I played a lot of AD&D in the past and have been a PC in various campaign settings. From what I read on the site, the hack and slash aspect of what I am used to from D&D (mandatory monsters in dungeions, etc, to level characters) is non-existent. Let me just say, THAT IS AWESOME! I have always favored wizard/mage characters but have never really liked the AD&D methods of spellcasting and other magic rules presented.
I'm anxiously awaiting an email (getting more frustrated, after reading the mediocre names posts, at everquest players wanting to join, causing admin to have to drudge through requests) and was wondering about some of the system requirements. I have an old system, celeron 500 with 128mg ram and an integraded sis530 graphics chipset with 8mg shared video memory. Is that going to be sufficient to run the client?
I'm really excited and hope to be accepted as the graphical client will take all of the "you walk into a room and there's a blah blah blah" descriptions out of the role-playing I'm used to and get rid of all the dice rolls and min/maxing, etc. and I really don't want to bite my nails waiting just to find out that I can't run the client. So, anyone who has info on the system requirements, a reply would be much appreciated, as if need be, I'll go purchase an agp video adapter while I wait :)

I don't think there should be a problem, the game has miniaml tech requirements, though it maylag a bit, it happens to everyone.
