Grant Slain?

Post by Val De Gausse »

Val walks gaurding Callahorn and a man appears by the name of Vahkos. He says the land is Northerot again. Val didn't believe him. Darlok was summoned and claimed he slain Grant. Val and Willum died protecting Callahorn. Soon after his rebirth Val writes:

Grant...? Is Callahorn no more? Or was this a trick of Darlok?

After being defeated, Darlok crawled back into his castle for about the tenth time, and did fight Grant yet again. Every blind ogre gets a piece of meat someday.

Dear Vally,

Grant was indeed defeated. There never was a Callahorn, and never will be a Callahorn. Anybody who decides to live in a nation governed by a follower of Nargun can't be too intelligent.

I sadly admit, yes, I was defeated by the hands of Movement members after I was backstabbed while trying to prepare a spell. And you Callahornians call THAT honor?

I lack the depth perception of the rune magics as of now. They have been quite affected since the theft. But when I understand the secret once again...

You will be sorry to have ever heard my name.

YOu call Darlok sneaking up on Grant and attacking him without defending honor and pride?

"Vakhos is sure playing a dangerous game. Why is he helping Darlok again?..." - Konstantin thinks.

But young Vally, it's about fairness!

After all, Grant, on more than one occassion, has been defeated by Darlok and Zerbus. That day, in Trollsbane, should've been the day the Movement was disbanded. And, Grant kept returning foolishly, then defeated, again, and again...

And the fact that they're trying to STEAL his kingdom away also makes up for anything you call lacking in justice.

Signed gleefully,

Vahkos, I am glad I know who my enemies are now. I used to call you an ally. I used to think you had changed. But you are still the sheep to Darlok's shepard.

Indeed, we were former allies.

I must say, you have changed quite a bit. I knew you were a follower of Nargun, but I was unaware of your granted powers by him. Or her. Or it. I'm not really sure.

I assist Darlok, because I desire balance in this world. From the looks of it, the playing field is far from just. There is a vast difference between me offering assistance and being a "sheep of the herd."

But, I have changed very much. My memories returned to me, even the memories long forgotten before the times of Fortinbris Bloodhearte. He's dead, and a nobleman rises up to the ranks, once again. In glory.

Hold your tongue, out of everyone a follower of Darlok shouldn't feel justified to judge what is fair.

You have to understand Vahkos's point of view.
War, dispair, and violence are things that he enjoys.

Even when he was mortal Bloodhearte, he enjoyed suffering.

If the balance of power between Grant and Darlok breaks - it means one of them will win and the war will be over. As long as balance is kept, as long as they are fighting - war goes on.
And as I understand, constant state of war is how Vahkos invisions the perfect world.

Am I anywhere correct?
