Mining

I used my shovel on a stone, did it over and over again, but no resources like coal or something. Am I doing something wrong?

*shrugs* i don't see what's wrong with showing them how to do things in game. I mean their are thousands of possible combinations they could do clicking with various items and using them with things, i don't think they're going to go through all of them one by one to find out how to anything.
