If you think Lyrenzia Punishment Cataloge is to hard, go to them speak to them and make them alter thier Punishments.

This is no "Problem" with the Jail or the Jailsystem itself.

Well, considering how useless the exilesystem was mainly due to the fact that the "well roleplaying" bandits, of whom some are ironically enough complaining about the current sitiuation of the jailsystem (caused by themselves.) They chose to act as if they were never exiled in the first place. "Oh, so being exiled somehow rp-wise prevents me from fishing in the middle of the mainstreet? Forced RP!!111"

There was a lighter system, you didn't play fair. Hence the harder and more inconvinient system.
Lets face it, you brought this upon yourself.

What does not amaze me that you are complaining about it though.

I can only speak for myself, not for Dyluck. I always search the person and jail them, if I stand near them. But there is also the problem of the game engine. There is no possibility to hold someone. The criminal can run as long as he want without the chance to catch him technically. That doesn't also make no sense. And typing a command takes time. So what shall I make, if he run and run? When have I catched him really? Always concidering, what the game engine allows and what not. Think also about Troll's Bane as a town. There are several people on streets, normally the gates are guarded in a medival town. Sure, noone can play 24/7. Therefore no guardsystem will work and there are times, not many players are online. But on the other hand, a crimininal, marked through a public trial, walking openly in town, selling/buying in the shop with Eliza doesn't make much sense. That is also bad rp.
This point has been brought up time and time again, and sadly enough I feel that it needs to be brought up yet again due to the extremely poor roleplaying of at least one wanted criminal in the town of Trolls Bane. I use the following character as an example and mean no insult to the player, but I have witnessed this one character behaving in this way on more than one occasion and feel it is necessary to make a special note of this situation because I am sure he is not the only one behaving in such a way, and this should be stopped for the betterment of the community, present and future. This said, let us continue.

The character Kale Orton has been tried and found guilty by the Lyrenzia judicial system and sentenced to time in prison. He has never been captured and thus is still sought after by the Lyrenzia authorities. This is all very good rp, but this is where the good rp stops.

Presently, Kale Orton walks the streets of Trolls Bane freely. He comes into town to start fights and further his murdering spree or other crimes without considering the fact that he is a wanted criminal and there are numerous guards or citizens searching for him. This is horrendous rp. He does not act out any evasive tactics to get him past the town guards that would be standing at the town gates, be they real characters or only imagined guards (as Aragon said, it is not possible for the players of town guards to be online 24/7 so there will not always be a town guard character online, but there would almost always be a guard at the gates of a walled community such as Trolls Bane, and therefore we have to at least imagine there are some at each gate as well as walking the streets). He does not hide in shadows or within a cloak to hide his identity. He comes to town and makes a scene nearly every time. I have witnessed him at least twice up to this point within the town when there were very few characters online, standing directly in front or even within the shop, each time attempting to start a fight with the intent of dealing death to the opposition. How does he come into town? He waits until there are no characters with the capability to throw him in jail online, and then he himself comes online and goes about a normal day in the life of Kale Orton within the town of Trolls Bane, when finished, he logs off right in the middle of town so that he can come online once more within the town limits. This much I saw today, on other occasions he may leave the city limits but I cannot speak on that which I have never witnessed.

A character that is a criminal or walks the path of evil is a welcome addition to this game, but it has to be done properly. This player must be able to grasp the true meaning of roleplaying a character who lives on the other side of the Law; someone who understands that no matter what the time of day or night, there will always be someone in the town (Just because a certain character is not online does not mean they have vanished. If they reside within Trolls Bane, they are still there even when offline unless otherwise specified.). In the case of Trolls Bane, a walled, gated and guarded city, there will almost always be guards cognizant of the fact that you are a criminal and will bar your entry at any gate if they recognize you. That you must find a way into this guarded city each time you enter because you are, after all, a criminal. That you will be apprehended if found within the town walls and escorted straight away to prison if you don't make your presence hidden once inside the town walls and in the open. If the player can't live up to such high requirements, they should rethink their character's role.

If you're going to play a murderer, thief, or other well-known criminal character then you cannot enjoy the liberties that those who play lawful or non-convicted criminal characters have. You cannot freely enter the city. You cannot freely roam the town. You cannot freely do business with Eliza. All of this is true, unless you have a valid roleplaying reason to be doing so. You can of course enter the city if you find a way past the guards at the gate. You can walk the streets if you hide your identity or even your person in some manner. There are an infinite number of ways to enter and exit the town, but you should act out at least one each time you do. There are an infinite number of ways to hide yourself within the town and from the guards and citizens searching for you, but you should act out at least one every time you are in the town. Just because there is nobody online who can send you to prison does not mean you should feel safe knowing that you cannot go to prison in this visit to town. That is an exploitation of the technical capabilities of this game and truly horrific roleplaying. If you're going to come to town knowing that you are a wanted criminal, have some way of getting into the guarded town. Have some way of not being captured once in the town. If you’ve served your time, you’ve served your time. If, however, you are on the run from the law, you have to run from the law. Roleplay a criminal, don't just act as a person breaking the law without any repercussions, recognize that there is a force behind the law and act appropriately or don't act as a criminal at all. This should all be common sense, but as most of us have seen within the game, unfortunately, it is not. Hopefully some of those acting in this disgusting manner will read this and change their ways, or those in the future who had thoughts of being a criminal will gain some insight into all that this lifestyle entails and live up to the expectations and gain the rewards and praise for being one of the few who could actually pull it off.

As for ways to improve the current situation, which allows criminals to walk the streets and terrorize the citizens in a poorly roleplayed manner because those with the power to place a convicted criminal in prison are offline, I see only a few solutions. One, and the most important in my eyes, is for the players themselves to improve their roleplaying. For the players of criminal characters to have their characters act as criminals, and if you chose for them to enter the town, realize that they are surrounded by hundreds of citizens and dozens of guards who want to see your character behind bars. Even late at night, there will always be some guards on duty, and some citizens awake. The second way to improve the situation would be to grant a few more highly respected roleplayers, who are online a fair amount of time (not to take anything away from Dyluck or any of the others with “keys”, but it is hard for anyone to have their character do a job when they are hardly ever online), whose character’s role would allow them to work for the judicial system of Lyrenzia with the ability to place convicted criminals in prison if captured.

If anyone else has any input on the matter, I would love to hear it, unless it concerns the length of my post and the low attention span of such a reader. I’m sorry for such a long post but such a basic concept as this is overlooked for some reason and it needs to be corrected, and hopefully informing these people that they are in fact acting poorly will help to change their actions and improve the roleplay in the game immensely for the rest of us.

Nyntar, didnt read your whole post because I have better things to do... But I read the first few chapters of it, you should get it published... Anyways, your whole arguement about Kale Orton is that he is a bad roleplayer becuase he doesnt roleplay the way Aragon wants him to, or you want him to.
This is called Forced Roleplay, if there are other people in trollsbane other then the actual characters and Aragon wants people to roleplay like they are around, then you should act like it. When he is online he should interact with these "peasants" even if they aren't there.
Until he does there is no reason anyone else should do the same. Kale Orton has avoided the prison guards after him. Aragon could get him if he was online to do such things and not just for big server situations...

When Hagen the town guard tried to throw me out I have killed him. Kale walks the town because as I do once in a while I put in "puts his cloak over his head" when people I don't know, know my name. If Aragon catches me I will gladly do my time in jail but I am in town just to sell things and maybe even cause a few fight but that is what he does. I also log off out of town or in the shadows. I also Role play thats Kale has a robe up over hes face so that his eyes show like in his avatar that is on tatic he uses to get into town.

I also have an idea maybe they could make NPCs by the gates and somehow know if the person is wanted than it can be like a creature and chase after the person I don't know if the server can do this but it is just an idea.

People have talked about this in many places of the forum.

Everything would seem fine, but don't start a war in town and throw a cloak over your head, expecting to wander off with no trouble.

That is not really what Forced Roleplay means, Grant Herion.
Forced Roleplay is more like doing "#me throws a pie at Grant Herion and it splatters all over his face, making him embarassed" without your permission.

It seems to me the fact that the town is a highly populated area where criminals should not be walking and shopping openly is simple common sense. To sneak around a few places is okay, but not standing all day on the main street and chatting with your friend. I bet that those who refuse to accept "invisible" people, are those who just don't want to accept the incoveniences of being a wanted criminal role.

Just from the tone towards Aragon in your post, I'd say you're probably just spiteful of people who have powers that cause you an inconvenience in playing criminals properly. From this "Until he does there is no reason anyone else should do the same", it seems you don't care whether the idea itself is good roleplay and instead have your own personal reasons, because the question here is whether or not something is good roleplay, which is obviously not measured only by what Aragon does, just because he supports it. Whether or not Aragon talks to "invisible" people, doesn't affect whether or not you should take them into account in the proper situations where their presence is significant, if you want to roleplay better.

Kale, that is a really bad solution to the fact you are wanted. Other characters are not allowed to recognize you because you have a cloak on. What if they recognize your voice? There are so many ways to recognize someone apart from how they look you know.

im not spiteful, I just dont see why I would need to roleplay for something Aragon wants me to roleplay, when he doesn't roleplay the same way. It is a double edged sword.

Interesting point about the town being highly populated Albernon. Since the Halflings, Dwarves and to some extent the Orcs and Elves have set up their own places, the town is left with Humans, lizards and the undesirables unable to get into the other places. Town if anything should have more bad elements in it than it seems to. This is only meant as a half serious point, though the town does seem to have less and less going on.

I'm kind of stuck though. My character is not wanted in town, doesn't like northerot and now doesn't exactly live anywhere.

Well I have read through this entire post (alot of reading I might add) and I have found a few key conscepts(spelling) THat I find I agree with.

1. There was something about numbers although I am not to sure what this is(explain to me if you wish). It said that if any FULL numbers are put on to ask for a trial that the trial should be forfiet. I must say this is an excellent Idea and should be done.

2. There have been tons of talk and alot of trials about somebody killing somebody else. Well why does a person that die able to tell who killed them? I say if you die you cannot accuse your killer unless there was another witness around(of course there are those ppl who would tell friends and say that they were witnesses and the killer might say a witness that was there really wasnt.)

3. I saw this point many times and agree with it wholeheartedly if your going to play a criminal or bad element you wouldnt be walking openly and if you do so your a terrible rp and inviting trouble.

4. I saw this idea only once I think and I think Ill say it again. Maybe for NPC like eliza(again no clue but whatever) could be programmed some how to know who those criminals that are wanted are and those char not sell to them(this also makes a great chance for rp between characters)

5. This is my own Idea that I kind of like but feel free to criticize. Maybe if a crimnal (who is wanted) logs off in town for a certain time frame (5 hours maybe) They are sent to jail. Im not sure if this can be done but hey an Idea is an Idea

6. Next I would also like to say to those ppl who say a person has to be somehow hiding themselves when they pass through town. Im not sure but I dont think everybody can see the certain action that you are doing. So the criminal would have to re iterate over and over again that they are hiding. And some terrible good guy rper will listen to that and run after them and that is just wrong.

7. But maybe for these bad elements if they say they are cloaked or something then their number doesnt get shown. But then another person said something about hearing the voice and stuff. Well I say if/when the person speaks the number is shown that way you can recognize it.

I know its long and just states somethings over again and I also know that I am not ingame yet so a few of my ideas may be crap but hey if you like them you like them if you dont you dont no worries to me

Actually, Aerinkoth seems to be up there quite a bit during late hours. Not much of a talker I take it though.
