about my carpentry skill

i do not think this is a bug... not at all
i have searched the forum before posting here; i found two topics which talked about my problem, one was with german, could not understand anything, the other one was very similar but it got sort of spammed (long ago it seemed from the username but anyway) and there was no solution or answer to my question.
Therefore i am posting this question here.
I have been doing some carpentry lately, i made around 5 wooden shields and 25 staves (not altogether !!... approximately this last month using Valdonyr obviously)... despite this, in niether of the Skills List has the word "carpentry" appeared yet ... not even in black.
And compering to other skills like herb lore, after getting only around 30 firnis blossoms for the first time (i remember still), it was already turning purple the word "herb lore"
can anyone explain me why? maybe i got this problem only? or is carpentry such a difficult skill that 25 staves and 5 wooden shields do not even help to make the "carpentry" word appear in the skills list?

(P.S. once i tried mining with Valdonyr and didnt even found anything at all while trying shovel with rock, and the word "mining" appeared in black... then how come "carpentry" didnt??)

I think carpentry is the hardest skill in Illarion,but i think it is right that this is the hardest to rise ,because you can make real good weapons with a good carpentry skill. So keep on playing

Carpentry is difficult, but it should appear after some time. Don't worry Val, it will appear if you continue this skill.

In former versions you had to repeat capentery procedures about 250 or 500 times to enter a new level.

Then, with some other changes, the chance to rise your skill was even minimized.

Just to give you an imagination about what you are talking.
You produced 25 wooden items? So you still seem to be raw recruit for me.

i do not intend to see my caprentry skills glow red after making 25 wooden items, but at least written in black... like other skills

Your starting stats can affect how fast you learn certain skills ,I'm pretty sure.

oh yes now i remember ... attributes can differ on how quickly you can learn certain skills from others... i read that somewhere in the page of illarion itself
