Race and vocation...
What I'm looking for are some combinations to avoid, and ones I should try.
I am a male elf, Chosen because I want to use magic, among other reasons.
Looking at the magic system page, I noticed that there are 4 magic groups.... Then theres 1 or more vocations that use each...
So, A list of combinations that Elves are good in, and ones taht they are bad in, so that I dont make a blind decision...
EDIT: Also, According to some places I have seen info, there are recomendations on certain jobs... Taht would also be appreciated..
Thanks in advance

Ok, where to begin?
First of all, the information on the website is not accurate. Currently there are only 2 "magical" professions available in game which is Mage and Druid.
This game is in alpha, so there will be a lot of changes coming up. This will also effect the magic system.
At the moment you will definitly not find a list which race has the best talent in what profession, as currently race has no effect on anything. But this will also change in the future.
So my advice would be to think about the profession your character wants to master and than take a look at the race description on www.moonsilver.de. If you think that there is a race in accord with your career aspiration than you got yourself a possible combination.
But I also advice you to pick a race you will be able to represent. Especially if you are new to roleplay everything but humans will be a challenge.

I dont have a problem "Acting" out any character... But that was one of the reasons I chose Elves, as I know how to play them rather well...
Currently, I'm looking at Male Elf, Mage, Master smith....
Is there any big bad, ugly conflicts in that? Like are mages disadvantaged at things like smithing?

Honestly, you can be a master mage or druid, and master every other skill, however it wouldn't be good rp to do so. A serious mage usually dedicates his/her life to their work, much like a craftsman. Craftsman however, can know multiple things. A good blacksmith could be a mediocre carpenter because blacksmiths need to make handles for all sorts of things. Alot of carpenters are lumberjacks because it is cheaper and they can learn about wood. There basically has to be an rp reason for you to excell at more than one skill. Magic is a highly sophisticated art, thus why elves make excelent ones because they have basically forever to study it.
I am not saying if your a mage don't do something else, I am just saying if your going to be a mage don't be a master at something else. Like your character is a mage, and enjoys tailoring and making cloths, but hes ok at it. Just think of it realistically.

Don't crush his spirits Gro... My character is a mage that 'can' cast every spell in this game at this time. However, I spend most of his time lumberjacking and carpentering. So he is a ok mage and a fairly good carpenter.
The point is, you can be a mage and a craftsman. Besides... how else do you plan on making money to buy mana potions?

OH, and:
Think of ambient mages. They draw their power form certain things/crafts. What if their mage power was with working with glass? Would they not be a good craftsman? Maybe they worked runes into the glass, or could store magic light in glass easier...something to that effect..for rp purposes anyway. And I am dismayed to hear that bard magic doesnt yet exist...Im all about bard magic.... >.<
