Who pays for the server?

Okay some days ago I asked me: I can´t see anywhee in Illarion advertising, not on the HP, not on the Forum, nowhere!But now I ask me why that can work?Who does pay for the server?Or does the GM have their own??? I am really quite confused,because I am very interested in that point!

The makers of the game pay for the server. They get no money back from it. So do not complain about the graphics since they do and maintain this game on their spare time.

I never did so! But another question: They really have to PAY something for Illa? They do not get any money and have to pay everything from their own money?

Yes and they do not take donations because of the obligation to the donator, although I'm sure they would get some donations. Hey if you got donations of equipment you could ebay it?

I bet they would take donations if the donator said specificly that nothing was required in return. So no obligations

If you search the forums deep enough, I remember someone said that this game started out as a project for like college or something for one of the creators of the game. Then, even after the project was done, the creators decided to keep the game. They are actually losing money by hosting the server, since no one is paying them anything. That is why I do not get mad when the server goes down and lose playing time. I only get mad when I lose my items and skills because of server resets, though...
