Some thoughts on newb questions

Look, i know everybody likes to RP, and they like to keep the OOC seperate from the RP, but i think if a newb comes along, and askes a few questions regarding the INTERFACE of the COMPUTER GAME (Now, i'd like you to tell me how a computer game in itself, and how pushing keys which makes you farm is realistic in ANY way), and s/he even askes it in the newbie forum, where they are supposed to ask questions like this, i don't see how it's fair to tell them "I won't answer this on the board. You have to ask the question in game."

Now, in a simple scenario a person askes how to attack on the OOC newb board. You answer with ctrl+click. That's fine. But usually you say find out in game.
The player goes ingame where it is NOT OOC and asked, and you say say ctrl+click.

Which question makes more sense, asking a question that requires an OOC answer on an OOC board, or asking a question that requires an OOC answer in the game?

No matter how you put it, questions regarding how the game works, controls, and matters like that are NOT in game. They are ooc.

Things like this. Wait till your ingame to ask a question that has an OOC answer instead of answering his OOC question in an OOC board?

Mostly this answer refers to the possibility to use F1 to F5 as short online Help (Includes most imporant Keys).
Also some (not all) usages of items are quite logic. Or would you ever try to farm at the peak of a montain?

Also the effect "Ahh, I discoverd that myself. I am so proud of me." would be lost, and with that a little part ofthe fun.

So saying:
"Try to find that out yourself InGame." is not always with a bad meaning.

One thing I don't understand.
The account acceptance thing takes a long time. Why don't new people use this time to check out all the links on the homepage? There is a lot of valuable information on some of these links that would answer a lot of questions before they get ingame.

But then I guess that would involve a little bit of research wich is a little like work, when you can just ask someone to give you the answer instead of researching it. I guess people are just naturally lazy.

Hey I learn all I can about a game before I play it, that way you don't find out something is worth a ton to other players and sell it to the npc for a few gold.

Had that happen alot in other games

I'm thinking there hopefully won't be many of these kinds of problems any more as we now have an english manual for the newbies to look at. Thanks for that.
