Account Anmeldung ? oder die 6 Schritte zum Erfolg:
Einleitung:
Illarion ist zwar kostenlos, aber wir haben die Erfahrung gemacht, dass es in der großen weiten Welt einige Leute gibt, die nicht in der Lage sind, ein Rollenspiel zu bestreiten. Aus diesem Grund ist der Zugang beschränkt. Um Illarion spielen zu können, musst Du einen Account beantragen. Aber Halt! Bevor Du dies tust, überlege Dir genau, ob Du Dir selbst und uns den Aufwand nicht ersparen willst. Wer denkt, dass ?Diablo? ein Rollenspiel ist, sollte lieber gleich umkehren und sich etwas anderes suchen. Wer fortwährend mit einem Auge auf die Skills seines Charakters achtet, wird mit diesem Spiel auch nicht glücklich werden.
Wir wollen Dich aber natürlich nicht davon abhalten, einen Versuch zu starten. Man benötigt keine Erfahrung mit ?richtigen? Rollenspielen, um Illarion spielen zu können. Was Du brauchst ist aber Einfühlungsvermögen, Geduld und Phantasie. Ohne diese Eigenschaften geht es nicht! Darüber hinaus muss Dir bewusst sein, dass sich Illarion noch in der Entwicklungsphase befindet. Erwarte deswegen häufige Änderungen am Spielkonzept.
Schritt 1:
Client herunterladen und installieren (Link: http://www.illarion.org/illarion/de_download.php)
Wer hier Probleme hat, kann auf dem entsprechenden Board nachfragen.
Schritt 2:
Charakter erstellen
Diesen Schritt sollte man nicht überstürzen! Überlegt Euch also zuerst, wen ihr überhaupt spielen wollt. Es ist dabei von erheblichem Vorteil, wenn man sich dies aufschreibt und sich vorab ein wenig über Illarions Hintergrundgeschichte informiert. Folgende Fragen sollte man sich dabei zumindest stellen:
1. Name (bitte Namensregel beachten! http://www.illarion.org/illarion/de_name_rules.php)
2. Rasse (Anfänger im Bereich Rollenspiel sollten hier am besten ?Mensch? wählen)
3. Charaktereigenschaften (schüchtern, forsch, ängstlich, aufbrausend, etc.)
4. Familiärer und persönlicher Hintergrund (wer sind die Eltern, wie verlief die Kindheit, gab es einschneidende Erlebnisse, was für einen Beruf übt er aus, hat er eine bevorzugte Gottheit, etc.).

Zur technischen Umsetzung:
Wenn ihr Euch über Euren Charakter im Klaren seid, könnt ihr das Programm starten (Illarion.exe) und auf den Button ?Create new? klicken (ihr müsst dabei online sein). Es erscheint ein Fenster mit verschiedenen Eingabemöglichkeiten. In Abhängigkeit der Rasse könnt ihr Punkte auf die verschiedenen Attribute verteilen, die natürlich zu eurem Charakter passen sollten. Dabei ist jedes Attribut wichtig, auch wenn es vielleicht im Spiel noch ohne Funktion ist. Dieser Umstand wird sich auf jeden Fall irgendwann ändern. Wenn ihr alles zu eurer Zufriedenheit angegeben habt, klickt auf ?Create?.
Schritt 3:
Account beantragen
Nachdem ihr den Charakter im Programm erstellt habt, geht auf die entsprechende Seite zur Accountbeantragung (http://www.illarion.org/illarion/de_accountform.php). Tragt hier alle Informationen ein (korrekte Schreibweise!) und schickt es ab. Bedenke, dass wir über diese hier angegebene E-Mail Adresse mit dir in Kontakt treten.
Zur Info: Die Accountbeantragung erfolgt zum einen per Hand (nein, eine Automatisierung ist nicht möglich!) und zum anderen von Personen in ihrer Freizeit. Deswegen habt Geduld! Ihr erhaltet nach Absendung des Antrags keine Bestätigung! Falls ihr einen schlechten Namen ausgewählt habt (siehe Namensregelung: http://www.illarion.org/illarion/de_name_rules.php) wird Eure Mail einfach gelöscht. Wer hier Fehler macht, ist selbst schuld. Es kann durchaus bis zu 10 Tagen dauern, bis ihr wieder von uns hört. Wenn sich nach Ablauf dieser Zeit nichts getan hat, könnt ihr gerne höflich nachfragen.
Schritt 4:
Mail beantworten
Habt ihr den Account beantragt und die Namenshürde genommen, erhaltet ihr eine Mail mit zwei Fragen/Aufgaben. Es ist durchaus angebracht, sich die Mail genau durchzulesen und sich Zeit zu lassen. Beantwortet die Fragen und schickt sie an die gleiche Adresse zurück.
Zur Info: Auch dieser Schritt kann wieder bis zu 10 Tage dauern. Hatte ich schon erwähnt, dass man Geduld für dieses Spiel mitbringen sollte?
Schritt 5:
Warten
Jetzt heißt es warten und hoffen (Wie wäre es, wenn man diese Zeit damit nutzt, sich weiter über das Spiel zu informieren? Auf der Link-Seite kann man sich über bestehende Fraktionen und Guilden kundig machen: http://www.illarion.org/community/de_links.php). Es gibt zwei mögliche Resultate:
1. Der Accountantrag wurde angenommen
Ihr erhaltet eine Mail mit der Bestätigung, dass Euer Accountantrag angenommen wurde. Das heißt aber nicht, dass ihr sofort spielen könnt. Euer Charakter muss jetzt noch in die Datenbank aufgenommen werden. Dies kann wieder ein paar Tage dauern. Ihr erhaltet keine endgültige Bestätigung, dass Euer Charakter freigeschaltet wurde. Versucht euch einfach hin und wieder einzuloggen.
2. Der Accountantrag wurde abgelehnt
Wenn dies passiert, kann man davon ausgehen, dass eure Antworten nicht zufrieden stellend waren. Tja, das kann jedem Mal passieren und ist definitiv kein Grund, ausfallend zu werden. Aufgrund der vielen Anfragen ist es uns leider nicht möglich, eine individuelle Erklärung abzugeben, warum Euer Antrag abgelehnt wurde. Es lohnt definitiv nicht über die Ablehnung oder das System an sich, eine Diskussion vom Zaun zu brechen. Nehmt es einfach hin, denn ihr werdet daran nichts ändern können. Ihr habt aber auf jeden Fall die Möglichkeit, es erneut zu versuchen.
Schritt 6:
Einloggen
Jetzt kann es losgehen! Wenn ihr euch einloggt, beginnt euer Charakter in der Bibliothek von der Stadt Troll?s Bane. Er wird mit ein paar Gegenständen ausgerüstet sein. Mit den Tasten F1 ? F5 kannst Du Dir die Tastenkombinationen anzeigen lassen, mit denen Du Deinen Charakter bewegen, Aktionen ausführen und sprechen kannst. Ab hier kann man dir nur raten, schnellstens Kontakt zu den anderen Charakteren im Spiel aufzunehmen. Man wird dir mit Sicherheit weiterhelfen (Kenntnis von grundlegenden sozialen Umgangsformen setze ich dabei voraus).
Nur noch ein paar kurze Bemerkungen:
1. Dies ist ein Rollenspiel, in welchem die Interaktion zwischen den Spielercharakteren groß geschrieben wird! Viele Fragen lassen sich deshalb besser im Spiel selbst klären. Wenn Ihr also auf ein Problem trefft, überlegt erst, ob es tatsächlich nur hier auf dem Board gelöst werden kann.
2. Informiert Euch umfassend zum Spiel selbst auf dieser Webseite und auf diesem Board (Suchfunktion). Viele Fragen lösen sich dadurch von selbst in Luft auf.

Account application - or the six steps to success
Introduction:
Illarion is free, but we have made the experience that some people do not roleplay well. That's why the access to this game is restricted. To play Illarion you need to apply for an account. But stop! Before doing this, think about the effort for you and for us. If you think playing "Diablo" is roleplaying, then you should try another game. Anyone caring only for leveling and skills won't be happy with Illarion.
But we will not stop you from giving it a try. You need no experience with "real” roleplay-games to play Illarion. But what you will definitly need is intuition, patience and imagination. Without these, it won't work. After all, you should always be very conscious about the fact that Illarion is still in development. Expect frequent changes in concept and gameplay.
Step 1:
Download the client (from http://www.illarion.org/illarion/us_download.php) and install it. If you encounter problems here, feel free to ask in the appropriate board.
Step 2:
Creating a character
Don't be hasty during this step. At first think about the character you want to play. It will be of great advantage to write down the description of your character and become familiar with the background stories in Illarion. At least you should ask yourself the following questions:
1. Name (take care to follow the name rules! http://www.illarion.org/illarion/us_name_rules.php)
2. Race (roleplay beginners should chose "human")
3. Traits of character (shy, brisk, timid, hot-headed, etc.)
4. Family and personal background (who are the parents, how was the childhood, any important experiences, what profession, preferred religion, etc.)

For technical assistance:
If you are sure about your character, start the program (illarion.exe). Make sure you're online. Click on the button "Create New". A window will appear. Here you can distribute, depending on your chosen race, points for different attributes for your character. Every attribute is important, although it might not have been implemented in game yet. But this can of course change any time. If everything looks good for you, click on "Create".
Step 3:
Apply for an account
After you create your account with the program, go to the application page (on http://www.illarion.org/illarion/us_accountform.php). Enter your character information (remember the correct spelling!) and send it to us. Take care to enter the email address correctly, as it is our only way to contact you.
Info: Account management is done by hand (there's no automation possible) and in the game administrators’ free time. So be patient! You receive no confirmation after sending the application. If you've chosen a bad name, your mail will simply be deleted. It's your responsibility to avoid mistakes here. It can take up to 10 days till you get an answer. If nothing happens after this time, you can politly enquire what has happend.
Step 4:
Answering mail
After applying for an account and after passing the character name check, you get an email with two questions/tasks. Be adviced to read the email thoroughly and allow yourself time; answer the questions and reply to the same address.
Info: This step could last up to 10 days as well. By the way, have I said that you will need patience in this game?
Step 5:
Waiting
Keep waiting and hope for a good result (how about using this time to learn more about this game. A good place to have a look at are the links with existing groups and guilds: http://www.illarion.org/community/us_links.php). There are two possible results:
1. The account is accepted
You get a mail with the confirmation that an account has been granted. This does not mean that you can start playing immediately, but that the progress of activating your account has begun. Your character will be transferred to the game database. This could take a few days. You won't get a final confirmation. Just try to log in now and then.
2. The account is rejected
If this happens, obviously your answers were not satisfying. This can happen to everyone and is no reason to get upset. Because of the huge amount of account requests, it is not possible to write an individual explanation for each rejection. A discussion about this will be useless. Take it as it is, as you won’t change it. Still, you can try and apply for an account again.
Step 6:
Log in
Now you can start. Your character starts inside the library of the town Troll's Bane equipped with some tools. By pressing the keys F1 to F5 some information about character control will appear. Try to interact with other players, they will for sure help you (assuming basic social behavior).
Just some short remarks:
1. This is a roleplay game which is based upon interaction between players. Many questions are better asked in game. If you encounter problems, first think if you could get it solved in-game. If not, try on the message board.
2. Learn about the game on the website and on the board (use the search function). Many questions were asked and solved in the past.
