History Book

It would be nice to have a separate book on the shelves, like the one that used to be on all shelves - with the chronicles.
Maybe three books - year 1, year 2, year 3.
It feels better when you actually have your character read in the library. Not because you want to gain some craft or learn some process, but just out of enjoyment.
I was very fond of that idea, when chronicles appeared in the library.
With current separation of book topics - the interested ones can easily find their history book.

I fully agree with you, but when we installed the chronicle to the ingame library, we had to discern that such an amount of text caused unacceptable lag.
Maybe when, one final day, scripts can be precompiled, we are able to offer such a feature again.

Most likely, these huge texts may then work from the client, not through the server ?

Then why not the entire library from the client?

The libary should be flexible in some way.
Having the text stored in the client would make you to download files/clients for every little change.

If it was with your client, youw ould be able to change the script... that would be interesting...

Maybe you should make an automatic updater for those files.

I think this is technically unacceptable.

Prehaps as your books and such got more set in stone then they could be moved to the client. If you were writing the history the current history would be constantly changing but things that happened years ago should be fairly stable and perhaps they can be moved to the client.
