Crazed Lizard

There is a crazed lizard wandering around the skeletons, although he may be after me only. He popped out behind a tree and began to attack me. He is quite powerful.

Do you have a description of this lizard? Do you know why he is after you?
Please give more information.

An old lizard friend of mine has been away from the island for a while now. He was a good lizard last i knew him. I have recently seen him on the island and he seemed really strange and didn't seem to know me. Perhaps this is the same lizard.

I might have a clue on who it is, but I have to check on it.

A simple design is painted on the wall in some sort green substance. It depicts a stick figure with some sort of ring around it's neck, and a long, bladed weapon in it's hands. Next to it is a picture of a small bladed weapon, wreathed in flames. The flames are coloured in what seems to be dried blood.

Was it a he or a she? If it's a he, was he muscular, tall? Did he have a necklace or a specific weapon?

Hooded one takes a look at the simple picture.

Is this the description of the lizard? If there is a jewelry piece, a necklace around his neck, and a large weapon - then it is most likely Salathe. He is the only lizard I know who wears a necklace.
But Sal was always very noble, reasonable, and conscious about himself and his actions. I went into battle with him. I doubt that he would attack someone innocent in such a manner.

Ayalla enters the town just as the sun is rising. She goes over to town board, wondering if anyone had mentioned anything about Sal's strange behavior. She rubs her eyes tiredly and starts looking through the many papers tacked upon the wall. Yawning, she catches sight of a paper titled "Crazed Lizard." She reads it carefully and then quickly scribbles a reply with a quill from her backpack.

This lizard of whom you speak is indeed Salathe. But there is something wrong with him...he acts like an animal, as though he no longer has the capability of higher thinking. He didn't seem to recognise me when I ran into him in the woods. Something similar has happened to him before when he lost his necklace and his halberd, but this is different I think...He has indeed lost these items, which are currently in my possession after finding them left in the desert, but even when these items were near him he did not seem to change back. I don't know what is wrong, but I would be extremely grateful is some of you could help me track him down and help him snap out of his current state.

Sincerely,
Ayalla, Amazon and sister of Athian

I have found Salathe and made an attempt to help this poor lizard.

He was seen in the forest which streches south along the Zelphia Shrine. I heard the lizard hissing and offered him some water as blood dripped down from his eyes. Many things were said durning this time:

Curses, wizard, a southern and eastern tower, mean tricks...

Do not frighten him! Listen to what he says, hear his words.

Is there a tower in the East? Maybe he speaks of the lighthouse?

Ayalla, keep the Sal's halberd close to you, and his necklace too.
As we know, his mind and his memory are in these two. We don't want to lose them, just in case.

We can try to catch him, very gently. Is he still armed? Does he have his shurikens on him? He is very dangerous as a fighter, so be careful.

Thank you for your offers to help. For now we need to look for him and try to figure out what is causing this behavior, the sooner the better. We don't need him killing anyone else...just be careful out there, and spread the word to others of Salathe's unusual behavior so we can prevent anymore deaths. Thank you again, and I hope we get to the bottom of this soon.

Salathe did not appear to be armed. He did not attack.
I didn't get a good look at him for he was hiding in the nearby trees.

Try bringing his necklace to him. But don't give him the halberd yet.
I know he was associated with some tricky wizard who played an evil joke on him.
I had a similar thing done to me once. Jokes are no fun.

Poor Salathe, I didn't exactly see him because my eyesight has been failing me... I did smell him though and knew he was the blurry figure standing before me in the forest.

When I got close it looked like something, perhaps his eyes, were rolling out of his eyesockets. He kept caoughing and falling and avoiding me. He does not remember me and questioned why I want to be his friend. He kept rambling about blood and a curse. He kept vomitting reddish fluids, thick like blood any time I got too close.

This man needs help. I don't know what I can do, but somebody must know. He has lost his memory before because of some missing possessions, but this time is worse...

Oh, and Konstantin, jokes are fun!

Any recent sightings I would like to know about. Where are some of the places he tends to lurk about? We are old friends, don't know how he wouldn't reconize me.

Alice scratches her head.

The forest you nut. He's been hiding out in the forest apparently. He's probably scared.

I wouldn't imagine that he is scared. Although this problem can be solved easily with a matter of time and pateince.

Power is nothing without control. And it doesn't seem as if he can control his actions. His name was Salathe right? Doesn't sound like Salathe to attack random people.

Do you know something nobody else knows? When he last lost his memory all he needed to do was retrieve his lost possessions. This isn't something of progression and growth... Something has happened to him to make him this way and it needs to be undone!

And why wouldn't he be scared? He was very obviously afraid of something when I saw him. And I don't know about you but if I didn't know who or where I was that would be kind of scary.

He spoke of a tower.

Didn't somebody already say something about a tower? It doesn't sound like you people are putting any clues together. Perhaps I should try and speak to Salathe...

No one has seen him for quite some time now. I wonder what happened to him. Talking to him would be quite hard when we don't know where he is.

I sailed to this tower, guided by the Spirit of Mind. This tower has a dark rocky valley as its basement.
It is very tall, in the middle of the ocean. It has a small lighthouse and a pier.
It seemed to be empty, but yet, full of strange, mystical presence. I climbed its top and looked out into the sea. I spotted an invisible ship docked at the pier, I saw it by the way its sails were reflecting the rays of sunset.
Once the sun went down, I could see the ship more clearly.
I boarded it and sailed home.

I did not notice anything strange in the tower. Anything that would belong to Salathe's story, but it was close to what he described.

Also, I think that the wizard who knows about Salathe's memory has to be found.

Malinne, happy to have you back with us!
We have a lot to talk about.

Oh, and be careful approaching Salathe. He is somewhat dangerous, I fool you not.

So this tower is nothing? It has nothing in it? Maybe the mystical presence you felt affects Salathe from so far away? I am at a lost. I say we do what Konstantin suggested. Giving him back his necklace and see his response.

I will try and find Sal and give him back the necklace. However, I can't promise I'll find him, and if he tries to kill me again I am going to run because there is no way I can fight him and survive in one piece. I will try my best and report back.
