proposal for regarding the account system...

Greetings Illarion...

I have some things to propose regarding the account system, so here I go:

I think it would be a good idea if it was possible to create a system which automatically sent you an email when you requested an account. Maybe saying: "Greetings "Character name" and welcome to the lands of Illarion. You have requested the character/account "character name", we will look into your request, you will have an answer whether your were accepted or not within a week."
Something in those thereabouts, I believe this would make it twice as easy to start here for new players, less confusing.

And another thing:

I belive it would be a great idea to make a thourough description of how to register an account here. A more detailed one, than the one already existing. When you first start here (and I speak of own experience) it is quite difficult to figure out how to get an account and what might be the best way to do so. When you've read the rules and the name rules there still exists a lot of unanswered questions. You hear people talk about some questions and somekind of a story on the account forum, and this really confuses you, and you start thinking "oups, did I forget that? oups, did I also forget that? wonder if I'll just get rejected now? better create a new one".
I think by making a detailed guide on how to create an account an the best way to do so will soften up the many emails regarding new accounts and players. It would save the one handling the account request a lot of time and the new players a lot of time. Because with a guide you would have a clear description of what to do, and what way to do it when you would like to get to play Illarion.

All for now!

I think it would be easier if on the Account Request page above the blanks something simple like:

-Make sure you have created a character using the Illarion.exe program you downloaded
-Make sure you use the same name, password and email adress on this form as you did when you created the character with the illarion program
-When you request an account please be patient as it can take a week or two before you recieve a reply.
-If your name was accepted you will recieve further instructions on what to do now with your email of acceptance.

I mean that's pretty simple and strait forward, and i know you can find this information in various places such as rules, name rules, them forums and such, but i think it would be easier if you just have the basic and more important instructions on the Account Request page so that they're guarenteed to see it and remeber it when they're making their character. It can't hurt to have the more important rules in more then just one spot.

True, but if they don't have the reading skill it wouldn't help them anyway, most people who get in wouldn't need these reminders. Reading the homepage and following the directions is a good weeder-outer in itself.

Well I dont know about the rest of you but I found the way it works pretty simple. Although it takes awhile  but applying for an account and the things nesicary(spelling) to get an account are easy enough to understand. And If you cant see the things that you should be doing your either very lazy or your an idiot

Administration replies after you send the email with the questions, right? Like, I'm typing up my answers now as an attachment (because that's what I think it was asking for, so I'm just making it a .txt attatchment) and I'm about to send it in. They reply, telling me I'm accepted or declined, and if I'm accepted, I just keep checking the program until my character is activated?

Just trying to clarify. I can see what they're trying to accomplish with the whole 'checking accounts by hand' thing, but the process is rather confusing.

Dont send attachments, they will be deleted without being looked at.
