I have been having troubles making a character on the game engine. Every time I type in my info and get the stats right, then click Create....it locks up and the program doesn't respond. is there anything that you can do to help me? if you can, please email me at father__spork@ideaone.net

What version of windows are you using?

I'm currently using Windows 98 powered by a relic of a processor. P1-166, prolly 32 megs of ram if i'm lucky. I don't even know what kind of video card this antique has in it, but it has played many other graphical online rpg's on it including deloria, AQ, and MRA. I have a feeling it is because my comp is so slow, but i wouldn't imagine that the program would freeze b/c of it. It's quite a situation i'm in.

Hm, do you have any software firewall programs installed? Are you connected to the internet via LAN?

Just describe your circumstances a little further.

Your computer might be too outdated to manage Illarion....

I am actually using a 56k modem to connect, and i do not have any firewall software installed. All i know is that this thing is reduced to nothing more than a glorified calculator.

Try to re-install the client.

If nothing helps, there is still the option to create the character form a different PC.
Because the Character Data is stored on our Server (exept for Names and Map files) you are not effected by this.

Ok....i'll try to reinstall..and if that doesn't work, i'll try on a different comp. thank you all for your support.

Then there is no hope! I tried many times with different configurations of my pc, but nothing worked. This bug sometimes happen, why does nobody know. There is no sytem on what pc, what version of windows, what browser or anything else it happens...

So accept it and create your character on an other computer, its the only solution!

Gortrek is right.I had the same problem and believe me: I tried a doutzen time to create a char.... So the only solution is to create your account from a different PC!

I'm suffering the same problem, using a DSL connection, with a machine running Windows XP. If there's no fix, I can just wait till I get back to my University and try with the computer there.

I wanted to test this game out, since it looked pretty good from what I saw. Anyway, thanks for listening.

To the other people who had this problem: The system locks up only when you try to create a character, but you can play on it just fine after you created the character on a different computer?

Yepp.You can play Illarion without any problems ( than the normal ones;).
But you can't create a new character.That's the point.

Strange. But it doesn't seem like a huge problem as you can probably use a friends computer for five minutes to create a char with the client then go ahead and do everything else on yours.
