i have just made a new website where EVERYONE (ANYONE) can now post his/her characters description and history.
The website is
http://www.illarion-peoples.cjb.net
each character will have a page dedicated to his own character description and history.
there are even some polls to vote for... and even a trading board.
you only need to register ... obviously for free
see you there

look
its not automatic ... i havent done it automatic yet... when a user registers... his application comes to me, and i make him accepted then the e-mail is sent at that phase, with the password and username(obviously the username you entered.)
But thanks for informing me... next time it could have been a bug or a problem
i just accepted your application and the others' you must have received an e-mail surely.
i am still trying to find out how to make the application accept automatically in this case.

To all who are writing/reading there, the person named "Damien" there is NOT the Damien who is Damien HERE. Someone just took that name.

I'd get pretty pissed off if someone took my name...

how many bob's and joe's are there? repeated names could be in fantasy to you know.

I am obviously reffering to more uncommon name, especially for people who don't use more than one.
Same with abbreviations. I can vividly immagine one person getting confused, if not annoyed, if you call yourself Ezo. Just make up a name that doesnt clash with those that have already been here a long time. Another example would be the two Cara's.

Ezor, I believe why Damien is announcing this information is to prevent any readers of this site from wandering into this character’s description site and reading what is posted by “Damien” and believing that is was written by and about, Damien. Of course there are similar and even repeated names within this game, but none are exactly the same. It should be common courtesy for the player of the character generating a description on Val’s site to use their FULL Illarion character’s name. This eliminates any confusion that could be formed by similar named characters deciding to shorten their character’s name with the result of becoming even more similar, or exactly the same as a completely different character within Illarion.
Yet another potential problem that could arise is if some player creates a phony character description of a friend in jest, or even of a character, or player of a character whom they dislike. There could be some means of verifying the identity of those who create the character descriptions on Val’s site implemented, such as a PM sent to Val on the Illarion forums indicating that their description is in fact their own, or in contrast and more importantly, not their own, so that it could be removed. In my opinion, the name of the Damien on Val’s site should be edited to their full Illarion name to prevent possible confusion or desecration of the true Damien’s good name.

Also notice how many players only have a first name and no last. Same first names are common, but not last names unless there is a relation. (with the exception of smith of course

well ... i cannot just delete this Damien of Illarion Peoples... but i shall contact him and ask him for his proper name in illarion, for if he has two, and then change his username on the website to it.
and by the way ... those who are joining and are not going to write at least on of character description or history, will be kicked off... because that is the website's main aim... its not a guild or such.

a new topik is in the boards of
www.illarion-peoples.cjb.net
those who are registered should take a look at it ... its just for fun... called it "Why you chose to play that race"
those who are not yet registered, i suggest you to do so
and btw, if this new topic gets a lot of posts, i shall dedicated pages to every player showing what he said about why he/she chose to play that race.
the aim of the website is now expanding... its slowly going to become an illarion fan website full of fun (ex. pages of character views, why and what? etc...)... only if it has many illarion players who show support and are active in it
hope to see you there

As far as I am concerned, first and last names are a human thing. Dwarves only have one name, but use another which they have gained otherwise, and elves only have one also. not sure about lizards :p

Dwarves have a surname, they just never ever give it out for fear that someone might put a curse on their family. Sometimes they use a fake surname.

If you had read the description of Dwarves as they occur in Illarion, found at
http://www.moonsilver.de/english/races/dwarfs.htm then you would have seen the true information relating to dwarven surnames as it applies to those in the world of Illarion. Here is the applicable quotation as found in the description of dwarves mentioned above:
"Every dwarven clan consists of several families. A typical dwarven family consists of a man, his wife, and the children. A common number of children is two to four. When getting married, a new family is founded and they choose a new family name. This is the reason why dwarves tell their names by "Son of... and ... Son of... etc.", female dwarfs name their mothers and grandmothers. The actual, self-chosen family name is not mentioned and never told to strangers. This is done to prevent curses against the family."
Hopefully this will help those who play dwarven characters. Their history according to the creators of the game, and thus the world of Illarion, makes no mention of providing a falsified surname, as Paul Laffing offered, but does describe how dwarves referred to one another with their family lineage included, yet without the mention of the surname.

yes, and you're not meant to know that. at least your character isn't, anyway.

What makes you so certain that I don't have a dwarven character?
Wasn't this done before? By Rash dude?

Yep, Mish.
You probably are wrong here.
I have in my storage of priceless quotes something like (from Paul): '..But Galdriel said no more characters for me..'
I have strong feeling that the player of Paul Laffing is actually half of the Illarion population.. Simultaneously.
