"Black Screen" when logging in.

Everytime I try to click the .exe file. It asks me to log in and everything, then the whole screen turns black.
I have all the files in the correct folder (including the .tbl's).
It will just stay like this forever unless I click the black screen. If I click it i get the infamous 'WSAECONNREFUSED' error, of course followed by 'Maybe the server is offline' and 'Can't connect!'.
I know the server is not offline (unless the website is inaccurate) because the site says "10 players are logged in." Also, I'm running Windows XP Home and after I get the error messages, I get the 'Send Error Report' Pop-up.
I'd really like to play the game and I have tried everything that was answered on the other 'Error/Can't Connect' posts.
As I'm sure the GM's are busy, any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If you had spent 10 seconds looking at other posts in this forum you would have noticed that this question has already been asked, and answered, several times. Apparently the server is down/frozen, just be patient.
If that is the case...

If that's the case then the server has been down for 2 days?
By the way, how many servers are there?

As Illarion is a spare time project of a group of former university students there is only one game server. And yes, it seems it is down for an unusual long time now. From Arien Edhel's posts in the other threads I guess there is a major problem they are working on.
The status field on the website IS inaccurate, but if the number of players online and the names in the list doesn't change for a longer time it is a good sign of a server freeze.

Since the person who is able to restart the server has his own live and is working as most people do, he is not able to restart the server right now.
It got some problems that have to be fixed and it will take a while until then. So just be patient.
When the names or the number of players in the list change, you know the server is back on.
It did change...

Before it always said there were 10 players online...now there are 11. Maybe I haven't completely signed up yet?
When the log-in box comes up, I just type in this username (Leothorn Broadleaf) and my password...after that do I click Connect(or whatever the submit button is) or do I click 'Create New' ? When I try to create new I get the errors as well and all the boxes are blank.
When the server is online, how many people are usually online?
Please let me know if I've completely signed up correctly.
Thanks.

I don't know if you signed up completly.
The server is down again, that is what I know for sure.
If you're not signed up correctly it says something different, you will notice it.
Questions you should ask you if you are not sure if you're completly signed up:
1. Did I create a character with the client?
2. Did I apply for an account via the site on the webpage?
3. Did I use an appropriate name?
4. Did I get a reply with two questions in it?
5. Did I answer them and send them back?
6. Did I get a reply that I'm accepted and it just needs to be activated?
7. Did I wait for about 2-3 days?
If you can answer all of these question with "Yes!" you can be sure that you are on the best way to play Illarion. When the server is up again.
