The local pub is a glorious place. The smell of fine ale, and roasted fowl fill the air. Everyone is laughing uproarously, and good stories are told and retold. And then the door swings open, and everyone's eyes fall on the newcomer. He is elven, and tall, young looking, but with the uncanny feeling of one most ancient. His long, black hair falls nonchalantly to his shoulders. His highly defined face, and highset cheek bones scream elf. He is tall, even by elven standards. Carved into his forhead is a strange symbol. It depicts what appears to be an elf playing a reed flute, facing a sleeping draon. Quickly, realization dawns upon them all. He is a member of the ancient bardic Order of the Dragon. Legend has it, that in the Dark Ages, when the evil beasts roamed freely, pilaging the earth, before the Humans, that this acient bardic order, saddened by the earths fate, sought to end the dragons' tyranic reign. It is said that, using their magikal instruments, they played a lulaby unheard, and put the dragons into an endless sleep. Some say, that deep within the bowls of the earth, the members of the order remain, playing to this day, keeping the dragons at bay. And now, in front of their eyes, a member of the order.
Ignoring their awestruck stares, the bard takes a seat in the corner of the pub, all alone. Wanting proof, a rather bold young man approahes the elf, demanding "If you are truly of the Order of the Dragon, then let us hear you play." The elf stared at the young, tipsy man, and decided to play his game. "As you wish." With that, the elf produced a intricatley detailed reed flute, and putting it to his lips, began to play. Staring at the foolhardy man, the elf began to play an uptempo rythm, and to the man's surprise, he started dancing. the man, looking down at his dancing feet in horror, shouted "I cannot stop! What sorcery is this?!" The man began to break into a sweat, as he began to dance faster and faster. The rest of the pub looked upon the bard, their eyes filled with wariness. The man, dancing even more quickly, began to look nauceous. Rigerous dancing and one too many flagons of ale do not mix well. As suddenly as he had started, the bard stopped his song, and the man fell to his knees, and puked. As angry pub members approach him, he turns to them and says "Wanna dance?" And with that, they backed off, and the bard took his seat.
