looking for a master

it is night, the city is almost empty, apart from some people still having a chat away in the tavern or others wandering in the night... Valdonyr is dressed in a light-blue elven robe covered from head to foot, with a hood covering his face as he seems to walk unsteadily, like being injured in his leg after a harsh fight... he arrives finally and silently at the posts of the city, where the papers whistle in the small breeze of the night... he takes out a parchment and his usual green ink bottle and his pen of hawk feather, and starts to write while his hand trembles a bit before getting used to the writing...
i am looking for a master warrior, fighter or whoever is ready to teach me some basic skills in fighting. I do not want too much theory, i only wish a master with whom i can practice safely and wisely, and only the basic lore and tricks of combat, making me just able to defend myself from perills of the outer-lands of this city.
Who is ready to offer me help shall send me a dove or whatever bird he or she uses, or else post a message here beneath.
We shall then agree terms and places and time where to meet privately together...
thanks in advance
~Valdonyr~
...with this... Valdonyr puts his ink bottle and hawk-feather back into his bag and walks off, still walking a bit unsteadily on his right foot... but more calmly as he starts to whisle some elven tune of the old days and walks back home, as the stars of the night start to appear in the dark sky above...

Valdonyr reads the reply post in surprise and disappointment in the same time, and writes something beneath...
Well ... do you have some contact with some old student who you ever taught? maybe you could tell him or her about my need... but thanks for replying

What would the teacher get? You seem to only want to be trained to be strong and don't truely want to learn the art of fencing. How much would a teacher get if he decided to teach you?

i want to learn the art of combat.. be it combat with ranged weapons or not, You ask why? well, i think this city is the only place safe and concerning me, i am the kind of person who has to travel out of the city to find herbs and such.... well ... what will the teacher get you ask?
i am very poor, but if this teacher shall ask for money, i shall do my best to pay him what i got... whatever it takes i shall go in for it, because i need to be able to defend myself and practice, instead of just fighting with flies in the dirt, that is costing me no training practice at all ...
what else you want to know sir grant?
~Val~
Valdonyr walks off angrily, muttering some words, "what does he mean i want to learn combat only to be strong?"...

I am a skilled dagger fighter. My main specialty is speed in combat. I can teach you fast dagger combat, desert style, and techniques of quickly dodging daggers. If you can dodge a dagger blade of a fast assassin, you can surely dodge a heavy sword of a knight.
Not sure about how strong you are, but my lessons will sure make you fast, unless you are a complete wuss or just lazy. However my lessons are expensive.
My time costs money. Leave me a note if interested.

Dear Valdonyr,
I would be willing to take up an apprentice in combat, based on how worthy one is to receive such training. The question is, would you be worth the time and effort to your teacher? Answer honestly, and in time, you'll know the answer.
Think about that question.

Valdonyr reads the last post, thinks hard, then takes out a piece of paper and starts to write slowly with normal ink...
Vahkos,
What i can tell you to show you i am worthy, are two things. First, i am not intending (and never will), to learn combat for using it wrongly on innocent people. Neither do i seek revenge with fighting. Second, i know that a combat is a lore, which i wish to learn, and education, for which i wish to practice, and with it comes a master who teaches me, for which i wish to be a friend.
And yes, if i got a good master, i am sure i will be able to learn and practice this art of combat. Because i am going in for it with all my might, both physically and spiritually.

...Valdonyr walks off slowly looking forward to meet his teacher and start the first lessons...
