We had a bugged character the last days, that caused all the crashes. I fixed his player file, and it should happen no more.

Should a malformed playerdata crash the server?? What about parsing the data and kicking it, if it's not correct? (For the future?)

Perhaps using an older char update ? (hehe not too old)

i'm not sure about what caused the crashes in detail, BUT here's a tip how to avoid buggy chars in general (which is used in this  T-game too :) ):
first save all chardata to a file, which is *not* the real player-file. after finishing the last entry to this file, rename it to the real player-file.

maybe you do that anyway, but if not: it helps avoiding much trouble ;)

this would only help to avoid errors while writing the file, right?
The file was written completely, so this would have been no solution, but might help in other situations.

describing the method itself explains selfcontaining its application and where it works ;)
however, i did not know when and where the bug occured, it was just a general statement/tip.

Many times i have been kicked out
and once it set back all my item #'s and some of my skills.
Was that a server crash or was that just my game?

The last server down was on the 23rd february. If you have been kicked out after that, it was only your client. You loose skills and Items only when the server crashes.

Ok, I understand now.
What about the lag? It constantly lags every 3 hours or so.
Could you fix that in the next ver.? Or at least cut down on so much lagging?

could you check the time when it lags? I am not online so often, so I don't realize it. If there is a longer lag, please note the time (and perhaps duration) as exact as you can. Perhaps it is the script that generates the statistics or the online list.
