Too many Tailors

Post by Raffa Redwillow »

This drought has taken away nearly all other occupations makeing everyone be a tailor. I think it should end soon or at least some of the resourses come back.

I can't say all noobs want to be warriors, but it's really the only way to make a decent living besides tailoring.

I have to agree here, we now have tons of master tailors on the island, because it's the only thing peope are able to do now, which is a nightmare, because I've spent 6 months working on becomming a master tailor, and now there are so many of us no boday neds to buy cloths, all their clothes either last forever, or they make new ones when they need it.

That is the Failure.
My Char isn't a tailer and he never would become one.
I haven't worked since you couldn't find any ore and coal.
That's (RP) life.

But the most don't understand that. They say, hey i cant find ore and coal but i have some wool, so i be a tailer to earn my money. In my eyes that isn't good RP but that has to decide everyone for himself.

All through the time of this drought, there has always been a chance for everybody to find coal and iron, gold, jewels, herbs (all kind) and other stuff. They are hidden, or rare, or the way to get them has changed. But nearly everything is present on the island. And there are many of char's with depots of plenty, you only need to find them, and deal with these people. Of course prices may rise, but - why not?

Do not expect milk and honey when the drought comes to its end one final day. I hope the trees will come back (if those who have collected 32, 17 and 14 seed-plants in their depots will show us their roleplay reason for taking them away from the shrine) , maybe the fishes and some other stuff. Most ressources have never been away, and so do not need to come back.

By the way, is there a official policy concerning the stolen seedlings?
If a person who has stolen them is 'caught' (Killed or really caught, whatever) and requested to hand the seedlings back, should he/she do it? Like other ocassions when someone is caught stealing?

i don't like it too. i think, it should be about 10 times harder to get master tailor, so it wouldn't be a problem anymore.

To be honest: I was totally surprised when I realized that somebody had taken all the seeds. To make this clear: the ceremony failed, because the people of Trollsbane were unable to protect Falkner's Shrine against this vandalism.
I know, most took one plant with them, and most of them have given them away in the meantime, but there a some guys who took 10 and even more plants without any roleplaying. But, I have to say, it was my faught, I refused to make the plants so heavy you could not pick them up. You can always pick up little plants, so why should I make these ones that heavy?
After the following days of discussion I thought the players would have understand, that the plants are needed and so I decided to put some new seeds around the shrine, just to give a little sign to these players who really tried to make the endless prayer work. 32 new seeds I planted all around the shrine, but within less than half a day, one individual took away all of them.
So, now, you ask, what will happen with those who will be investigated? I do not know. That's an ingame question.
Those who took the seeds did not mistreat the game rules, that's my opinion. Maybe they destroyed my plans for this little quest - who cares?
That's the what you have to be prepared if you don't want to game alone against a computer, isn't it?

Of course I know, who has the seeds in his pocket, but this knowledge does not fit to any ingame storyboard. Be sure, I will not tell anybody, who did, nor will I try to force them to bring them back. Whatever will happen ingame we should try to roleplay with it.
That's all I have to declare.

Im not sure, and I dont want an argument but I think the town is expanding too much during the drought. theres the new dock building, the church thing thats by the zombies. I love all the new buildings and changes but i think its expanding too much while were in a drought. Resouces are scare and i dont know how we could build two new buildings.

I don't necessarily have a problem with this drought. My character sometimes does blacksmithing, but he is, for the most part, a "dead" mage. He can still practice the arts of magery and all that stuff without drinking any mana potions, but he eats food. Resources are not "impossible" to get.

Likewise with me. My character is primarily a fighter and herbalist, and cares more about his sword than anything else.

Maybe we should place a rail around the shrine. Hire some guards to guard the shrine when most citizens awaken. We could have a fundraiser.
