Poll

Okay, after reading the text in the "How long" subject....Who thinks I am getting screwed? Who thinks I am getting exactly what I deserve?
Was there an OOC reason to jail me, or just IC?
Everyone whould know my vote already.
IC reason, no ooc, and well, I feel pretty picked on.

If there was no other reason for jailing you, making this poll certainly is reason enough.

Well judging from your log... and previouse experiances..Im with you Ark.

Sean - 'Private server, own reasons for jailing, deal with it hun.'

I got to laugh at that. L-O-L :D how can you say that. If it was the other way around Sean... god it would be winey, bitchey spam death for us all.

Drathe, I dont even know whether to take that as an insult or not...... :?

The truth is, dont complain to the GM's, because sometimes they have their own agenda.

Apparently a GM thought Ark should be in jail, it happened, end of story.

Illarion is not owned by players, its owned by the admins and enforced by the gm's, so I'll tell you what was told me.

"Deal with it."

But without players, the game could not exist. What's the point of a game that nobody plays?

I dont make the rules, I just point out the facts.

Sean, Rynt, and Drathe...argue that in another topic and dont spam mine. This topic is whether people think I am being treated unfairly...regardless if they can or cant treat me bad if they want to....just if people think I am getting picked on in the circumstances.

Amen.

Yes, I agree with you whole-heartedly, but... oh well. Nothing you can do but wait.

Ark, why were you jailed? Was it because you were casting your little poofies, or because you were barking and spitting at Arien? Your character normally acts like this, and thus this doesnt break any rules. It may break Lyrenzia rules, to some extent, but as far as I'm aware or concerned Arien is most certainly not a Lyrenzian official.

However, if he locked you up purely because he doesn't like how you were playing your character or just plum because he could, and locking you up in an IC jail at that-then that is indeed terrible Rp from Arien.

Either way, Ark-I think you were screwed.

I'm on your side on this one Ark. The jail is supposed to be an IC punishment, not OOC. In order to carry out an IC punishment there has to be a trial through lyrenzia.

Also the OOC comments should have been in ((brackets)).

I don't see whats the big deal about picking on the GM characters the same way someone would any other character in Illarion. First of all it's not actually the GM, just another Illarion citizen. Second of all, there is no way of knowing who is a GM and who is not.

Correction-You can tell who is a gm, cast a ton of spells on them until they kill you in one swing or throw you in jail.

Accually jailtime was a fairly common ooc punishment, I think it's just a temp ban now.

Since when was jailing merely a IC punishment?
Where does it say that? If I recall correctly, people were jailed (not in the current jail though) for breaking the server rules (PK) even before lyrenzia.
These special characters should not be disturbed when busy, with the possible exception of very urgent cases.
Check -> Rules -> Gamemasters

Yeah well you wouldn't know who is GM unless you memorize that list and until they have introduced to you in the game.

This is very true, I do not belive I have an #i from any GM and just imedeatley recodnizing them thru their number is somewhat hard even if you know they are online, and when you don't well..
I think I have been somewhat rude IC to GMs on occation since I had no idea who they were, I even chased one along the streets once I was told  My char may have little respect for others but a short ((I'm a GM don't bother me)) surley would avoid such things.

But I think the GM that jailed you already admitted to making a misstake in not using the brackets so you would know for sure it was an OOC matter. And as far as it goes for the reason you were jailed it is very possible he did simply not like the way your character was acting. But you know this is not a democracy and so you kinda have to deal with it like said before.

I dont realy want to be recognized Ingame.
Some know me already and only making my Job harder.

Sometimes I have to check how a Character behaves, and than suddenly (excuse the word please) a "fool" shouts:

"Hey, Keikan! How do you do?"
"Keikan, can you answer my Question?"

And suddenly I am surrounded by perfect roleplayers and I could log out as well.

Think about the other side, not just yours.

But Keikan, when you just waltz into the castle which we were roleplaying protecting... we have to do something. But about saying ((I am a GM)), I don't think thats a good idea, because, well, I won't say, but it isn't.

by Crocket
As far as someone just saying ((I'm a GM leave me alone)). That won't work because anyone who didn't want to be bothered would just run around saying ((I'm a GM)).

@Keiken
I see your point that you don't want everyone around to know who you are, but don't blame someone for roleplaying their character like they would with any other Trollsbane citizen when they don't realize that you are a GM.

Crocket,

since when is Keikan a "Citizen of Trolls Bane" ?
He is a GM and will allways be one.

If someone greets me like "Hello Stranger!" its not much of a Problem for me, i can simply greet back and pretent to be a normal Character.

But if someone calls "Hello Keikan!" its geting a problem for me.
He knows that I am a GM, and without the propose to tell me something important its just disturbing for me, and might (actualy always) make job harder.

A GM-Character is not a Roleplay-Character for me.
And I belive most Player know this fact.

Ok I have a question.

AS you said Keikan Hiru, 'GM-Character is not a Roleplay-Character for me.' But there are other GMs whos GM chars are Roleplaying characters.

So a GM's char is subjective to his/her wish for it to be either a rolplaying or No rolplaying character. So how do we as player know which is which, Other than the few obviouse RP'ing GMs out there?
