I have seen something like this in other games but anyways:
After you die and are ressurected, you can attack but 70% of your skills are drained, and gradually restore over about a 15 minute period time. During this time, you cannot be attack by npc's. This way you are not reskilled by npc's. Meanwhile, your maximum stamina will be at "you are too exausted to work" status. Just a thought.

Actually, it wouldn't be too realistic if monsters (NPC's) just backed off because you looked fatigued. Most are senseless, and kill anything but their kind.

this is technical, how many npc's have you seen walking around talking to people?

So.... I get killed and then all of a sudden I have 15 minutes to run through the dungeons guarded by the most powerful monsters who now can't touch me?
There's no RP sense for the "NPCs can't attack" you part of it, and is not necessary. You dont have to be stupid enough to get revived in the middle of a monster horde.

fine, then make it so npc's can't attack you on the cross part until your 15 min are up.

Uh... I may sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, but.... Isn't the cross in town? Monsters don't really hang out in town much, do they? So this idea of yours doesn't sound like it would be needed.

You already start with no health and you already lose skills after you get resurrected. I think that is enough of a penalty for death. What is the reason for having more penalties for beign resurrected?

Clock.....how utterly unrealistic.
How about Permenant death, or a one day limit before your spirit fades into the afterlife?

For one elaralith, people don't seem to think it hurts to die, and get back up and start fighting again, because they want to make back the skill they lost. You don't lose an arm and continue fighting like nothing ever happend in real life do you? How utterly realist, how realistic is jumping up after you die and fighting again?

Just do this, when you start how with your character you only have say 30 lives. After you die 30 times your character is dead forever and Cherga takes your soul.
This is make people who attack after they die stop. And this will make people worry about dieing.

@Gro'bul But in real life, you don't get resurrected after you die either...

This will only make PKs more glad about there job, cause they know then, the other is realy angry, cause he lost his char.
It will be as an extra bounty for PKs.
If dead really hurts, the misuse of killing people has to be stopped to a minimum, which isn't possible at all.

Good point Aragon. I guess the system they have now is the best one possible...

I dont think monsters should attack people on, or go near the cross. This could be because they are frightened by it's power or something.

This would lead into further abusements, since the people would bring monsters near the cross and train their distance-weapons on them.

disable ALL Attacking on cross surface as power of the gods?

This would lead into people escaping death to the cross, which would make them invulnerable. So they could do/say whatever they want. Abuse.

erg, didn't I say the "protection" would wear off? Wouldn't matter a whole lot anyways, logging is still a favorite move among people who don't want to lose skill,or attack somebody then log, and it isn't against the rules. I really wish there was a written rule against this.

I agree with Gro'bul, that log off goes to fast. I think it would be a good idea, if there would be a delay, before your char disappears, during the time your char can't act but he can be attacked. So people only log off in save situations, and can't use it as a hide out. I think 6 seconds delay is alright.

It a good idea , but i think 4 seconds are enought!

Why not just have it so you can't log out if you've been attacked within 10 seconds.

Well, that is a good idea, but I think that your are not allowed to log of after 10 sec if you have attacked someone too.

There will be no log out penalty, they cause more problems then they tend to solve.

That's true, and RuneScape does that...
If I'm being killed by a demon, but manage to find a hiding place to log out, that would eternally suck if I had to wait until the demon got to. Therefore, it's a good idea just to keep it the way it is I believe, and report insta-loggers.
