How long exactly is 'long'?

ok every newbie take some steps to get a quick answer:
1.Think
2.Use the search funktion
3.think
5.Pick a topic that maybe answer your question
6.Read
7.Think is your question still unanswerd
8.make step from 2-7 again
9. after 6 topics you maybe open a new topic
