Journey back home

Sailing slowly but steady over the waters on the raft he had put together and hidden some time ago, Draakon looks back as he can still see the land at the horizon. Many a memory he takes with himself from the town of Trollsbane and many a friend he leaves behind as he heads for his home.
Knowing it was always to be so does not ease his mind in the slightest, the calling had come very suddenly and he could still clearly feel the pain that had rushed thru him and knew it was his fathers pain he had felt. He does his best to catch what wind there is and makes better progress over the wide open waters than he had hoped, the sun shining bright almost feels burning against his skin and the waters reflect the light in the waves so strong he more than once has to look away.

From his pocket he reaches after his ring, the ring that earlier that day had burned his hand. The small dragon figure carved from the smaragd gem seems to be moving as the light hits the ring from different angles. He again places it on his finger and then grabs the sail firmly with both hands as he knows he must go as quickly as he possibly can, not knowing if the wind will be enough or if a storm should awake he hopes the provisions he brought shall be enough to get him to the mainland.
The raft gently sways and bobs up and down gliding over the gentle waves, the ocean smell so very clear as it fills his nose he feels somehow more alive than he had for many a month before. The creeks of the wood, the sound of the wind hitting the sail plays along in harmony with the oceans silent but always present roaring and some birds he does not recodnize that call out over and over.

As the first day at sea seems to come to it's ending Trollsbane is no longer to be seen, only the vivid waters now surround the small raft and it's only passenger. Draakon hopes that his small knowledge of navigating with the help of stars will be enough, he had been lucky enough to pick some up as he one night stared at the stars with one who had good knowledge of them. "The brightest star always shows the way north.." he thought to himself. Knowing there would be no sleep for days to come he reached for a sweet apple from the chest of provisions he had brought, knowing he was lucky to have such friends that would nay hesitste to give out food when there was almost none to be found, the taste was bittersweet as he again remembered what he was leaving behind....
