another problem...

Ok, the create a character wasn't working on my computer, so I got on a friend's computer and downloaded the client. I filled out the form the same way, but when I hit "Create", instead of stalling (which it does on my computer) it doesn't respond in any way at all. Absolutely nothing happened. The "OK" field remained inactive.
It's on a cable modem, and I know that it's connected to the server.
Why does this game hate me?
