How large is the community?

I have got one question. How large is the community playing Illarion? When I browse Illarion.de i can see a player meter in the top-right corner of the site. I shows the number of players online, which is usually 4, 5 maximum 15 players online (I have seen). Is that true, is Illarion`s community really so small, or more people play it :?:

I think there may be about 500 active players, and the most online at once was 43 it's the summer, so people are on holiday and such, thats why we have low numbers.

And also remember, we all live around the world. People might be playing while you sleep. I live in the US, so when I play, people in Germany might be sleeping or at work. If we added the total amount of people who log on in the whole day, it would be much more than the number you usually see logged on.

I see. But doesn`t Illarion sometimes seem to be a little bit solitary when you play it?

Yup, at times it is. Some of us like it that way, sometimes.

There used to be a lot more players online, but ever since the email application system, when people stop playing their arn't as many people taking their spot as their used to, which is why i think it is smaller. Although it also could be the fact that it's summer as well.

Someone once said long ago...
"We may be a small community, but we are a strong one."

This still is true.

I am planned on being a GameMaster for an RPG game known as Myrimidia. Most people on the boards said that because of the application system, they think that Illarion is not that good of a game. I remember one person saying...

"I waited 3 days! I got nothing. Illarion isn't a good game."

I was thinking of terminating his board name. ;)

A big community isn't necessarily a strong one, but the same can be said for a small one. What makes you say this small community is a strong one?

We are not a giant group of people who love to spam.
We are not a giant group of Player Killers.
Most of us roleplay very well.

I'm not saying we have the biggest town in any online game. I'm talking more about how the players act compared to other players on other online RPG games.

I agree with your first two points, but not really the third. I still don't see what makes this a strong community though. If those other online RPG games you're talking about are graphical, I would have to say they are more of a different genre anyways. When talking about overall roleplay, I think that most of this community still lack a lot of skill and creativity, and cooperation too.

That could be true. I was speaking from a differant view then you were. But as Akito said, this game is in alpha.
