Greetings Friends.
I have invited you here today in the hopes of getting to know you all a little better. Forgive my manners, before I ask you about yourselves, I must introduce myself.
My name is simply Sire Daijen. I have no surname, as I was born a commoner, yes, a humble serf. I was brought, no, bought out of poverty, by my dear friend, Lord Eliken 'von Felpen, in exchange for saving his life. For I hath saved the man's life in battle, but I shall not go into the details, as I do not wish to give you a false impression of bravery. The short of the matter is, he was grateful enough to employ me as his apprentice, as a squire. Also, he taught me to read and write, and much, if not all of what I know today.
After I had finished my training, and became a knight, the situation in our lands became grim. A new King came to power, with a personal hatred for my Lord Eliken. The King ordered that Eliken be brought before him. There was no other way to avoid the summons, so myself and two other knights fled the land, with Eliken, under cover of darkness.
We boarded a ship, which was destined for this place, Trollsbane, but alas, we were attacked by pirates during the crossing. Unfortunatly, I am alone in this state of survival, being the only man too afraid to die, bar the Lord Eliken, I still wonder his fate. As he jumped ship at the first sight of these evil men of the sea.
I was forced, but yet I am still to blame for my decision, as I became a pirate. And I served 3 years with these men of the sea, before I earned their respect, and they released me. I am shamed at the acts I performed during those years, and fear the nightmares will never cease. But I go on, and it has been 2 years since that day. I do not yet know the fate of my friend Eliken, but I have grown beyond hoping he will appear somewhere that I frequent. It has been too long.
The pirates left me on the mainland, And not knowing whether the ruler of my old land still wanted my head, I boarded the next available ship to Trollsbane. Fortunately, this journey was uneventful, and here is where I have washed up, so to speak.
But enough about me, tell me about yourselves....
